US skydive pics

Post by ryallm » Wed Feb 06, 2008 9:49 am

I know one or two of you are contemplating AFF this year, so you might be interested in my Florida trip. Just back and still jet lagged and slightly shell shocked with all the adrenalin. With some excellent coaching and a huge mental struggle I achieved one of my major goals for this year in getting my FS1 formation skydiving qualification. I was wracked with self doubt at the start of the trip so I am well chuffed to get through it. Haven't quite figured out how to chop up the huge VOB DVD file of my jumps, but here are a few stills:

Moments later reaching terminal velocity - notice the plane on its nose in the background:

Checking the alti - always a good idea!

Our transport for the week. Crude but great fun to hoon around in:

US skydivers are the most friendly, welcoming, enthusiastic, crazy bunch of people I have ever met. On Saturday morning I did a 3 way formation jump with 2 American guys I literally met as we were about to get on the plane - barking!. I'll definitely be going back...

Great pics Mark. I'm glad I'm not in that plane when it's on it's way down...
