Top Gear Track Evening

Post by Rag_It » Thu Jul 10, 2008 12:20 pm

Following on from Andy's thread, thought i deserved a few hours off from work, and DIY so headed up (invited!) to Knockers mainly for the sole intention of taking some pics. Half way there thought it was going to rain, tempted to turn back, but luckily it stayed dry, and all was well!
A rubbish night for picture taking with the light being awful, but hey, it was nice to be one of the few people with a camera, and actually have no distractions. Plenty of time to sit and play with settings, try out different shutter speeds, and generally f*ck about with settings, curse and swear at my inabilities, and wish i had some better glass!

Some lovely cars, and as Andy mentioned, the majority of which were definitely being driven as intended, with both 360's giving it full beans, which sounded AMAZING on the back straight!

A few of my favs.....

Excellent Dave.

Sorry I missed to talk with you. May be the next time....

I think I may need to stiffen my suspension or get a bigger anti-roll bar as the CR rolls a lot.

Thats me, completing a 360 exiting the chicane, the front of the car is moving away from the camera to point straight up the track.
The cones allowed a bit more kerb to be taken so we were getting quite a bit of air over the crest, I went over bounced and then caught the edge of the grass as it was starting to slide. The kid who had approached me in the pit lane for a pax was rather enthusiatic about the whole thing :D

The CR just comes with the standard brakes (2 pots), suspension (think Bilstein) and a thin anti-roll bar, which disappointingly does not match the name :(

You would need to get stiffer springs to go with the Ohlins as they come quite soft springs

How about a stiffer roll bar?
