Photoshop skills please

Post by gorrie » Wed Jul 16, 2008 8:02 pm

I haven't been driving the car due to a leaky radiator... but I've been itching to play with it since picking it up.

I had planned on getting some matt black stripes put on the car (professionally), as it should help blend the black plastic wing mirrors in a bit. Anyway I found some gloss black stuff in my garage from years ago so thought I would mock a design up. I'm quite liking the design in the picture below (I think) and might live with it before deciding to pay someone to do it properly..... but it needs black wheels I think.

Is there anyone on here who is decent enough at photoshop to knock up a picture with my stripes and black wheels? Even better would be if someone can knock a picture up with black OZ's or Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2's... but that might be asking too much (worth a try though).

Very grateful for any efforts, before I decide whether to buy some black rims.

Andy

Why bugger up a nice looking coloured car with stripes?

Just get the mirrors sprayed to the body colour which they should be, and it will look its best.

I also think that the wheels will look better silver than they would black, and probably have a better finish.

OK then... can someone knock up a photo-shop of black wheels with the stripes... and another with black wheels, no stripes, but with body coloured mirrors?

Not being funny but just spray the wheels yourself.... It's not too hard with that spoke design!

If you don't like it - change it back... :thumbsup

Sorry to disagree with everyone else but i think it looks much better with the stripes and i think putting black wheels on it will only improve it further .
Wasnt really sure about the colour a first but the stripes seem to tie everything in together
I would go for it mate :thumbsup

I don't think the checkers quite work at the front. Maybe taper or fade them out?

Like the colour and black stripes really enhance it ( but don't do the chequered bit at the front) :thumbsup

I think that black wheels with that body colour would be great. Stripes too much though (for that car & colour)... IMHO :thumbsup

cloggie/alic/j2... your £5 is in the post... Dom, you only get £2.50

Now, I know you won't believe me, and that this may sound like back pedaling, but this really is the truth. I realised near the end of this mock up excercise that I didn't have enough black sticky stuff left to finish the car (it was just stuff I had in the garage from my old kit-car days). The plan was for just 2 solid stripes, with the 2 outer pin-stripes. I had started off by doing the full length pin-stripes so that I had a guide to work from.... then did the main stripes on the roof & rear... I got to the front but was going to be about 1ft short... so, rather than leave it like that, I decided to cut the vinyl up and do the chequered bit so I could finish.

I think if I was getting it done professionally, it would just be solid stripes, with the outer pin...
I've tried playing in MS Paint to colour wheels in black but I'm useless at it....

I'd probably do dark gray/graphite stripes on that colour, of car.
But then I have a gay blue car - so my opinion probably counts for nothing.

Does that sound like a bad movie title to anyone else?
