Silverstone Classic (SLC)

Despite knowing next to nothing about classic cars, me and the other half took my dad up on an invitation to the Silverstone Classic last weekend - for those who have never considered it, I can highly recommend it. Definitely got to have an interest in cars (not really 'fun for all the family') but the racing combined with the car club displays, Bonhams auction, fly-bys, open pits/paddock and multitude of beer tents made for a great couple of days (didn't hurt that it was +30deg C both days too
). The 60th anniversary of Lotus meant they had a big presence too including the clay model of the Evora (for the record, I reckon it looks great...). Couldn't believe how competitive the racers were in their million quid cars too - fantastic watching Astons and Jags with pedigree histories coming back in with scrubbed crossplys and bodywork damage. Brings tears to the eyes...
I reckon Goodwood Revival or Le Mans Classic would mean much the same - great racing while still making the crowds feel part of it...
Lotus XI

Lotus IX & X

The real deal...

Ferrari Owners Club - managed to make the 355's look common

Spitfire and Mustang skimming the track. Beautiful...

No stone chips to worry about

Tank slapper

Lotus 7 Club - millions of 'em.

That'll be the new Chinese Ferrarri TF
