Did he do all that work on it to make a profit or for his own satisfaction?

Would be interesting to know what he spent on the restoration above and beyond the car price.

Tut, I bought the car for sentimental reasons, I have very fond memories of racing wheel to wheel with Scotty in it.

When I bought it last year it was in a bit of a mess, it needed some seriuos loving else it was only going to go one way. Had it not been Scottys old car I probably wouldn't have bothered.

I spent the whole winter stripping, refurbing, replacing and rebuilding it. Many hours were spent as we're many pounds.

Considering my original car has only got 6k on it over the last 11 yrs, I've done 2.5k in Scottys old car this year alone!!

The time I put in and the cost to replace more bits than were left origainl then I made nothing on the sale. What I did was see the car back to it former glory and ready for the next 10 yrs of enjoyment and pleasure that it has given for the last 10.

Its new owner is a Lotus nut also, its in good hands and will be loved as it has been by its previous 4 owners.

1 2eleevn is enough for any man, onwards and upwards with the next project!!

I don't post on here much now Gav since N3 went, so overlooked you being on here, hence the third person.

I thought that it was a labour of love but then expected you to keep it, you had made a fantastic job of the rebuild and I imagined you admiring it as it sat in the garage. I know when I bought white N3, Keith had just finished re-building it to as new, and I used to stand and admire it when I was not driving, something I could not really do with yellow N3 or N1.

Good to see that it went to an enthusiast, mine likewise, so much so that he kept the reg on. She would never have left my sweaty palms if it had not been for this illness. However I still have the disqualification and many points to remind me, they cant take those away from me, well I suppose they can after five years.

All the best with the next project, am sure it will be a stunner.

Cheers

Must admit, I completely fell in love with the gold colour I painted it, I'm seriously contemplating painting mine to match as the pewter grey looks a little boring in comparison.
