Loup of Fintry Waterfall

Took a run up the Campsie Hills and managed to get some shots of the waterfalls at the Loup of Fintry. Quite hard to get into good positions to get all the waterfalls due to the amount of vegetation around, not to mention rather steep drops.. Its a nice spot for a picnic as well. I even had some wedding photos taken there.

Iain,

Can you provide the actual location for this? Google map or OS ref? My Dad, a professional landscape photographer, quite fancies a look up there some day!

cheers

Loving the shots. 8)

I guess you used a trypod for them? What shutter speed was that at?

Hi Campbell

This is the reference I get from Google Maps 56.049681, -4.150407

Access to the waterfalls is via a footpath from a very small layby on the B818 Denny to Fintry road which passes by Carron Valley Resevior.

Indeed I did use a tripod. On average most of the shots are about 3 seconds with apperture closed down to F22 on my Nikon D40 with standard lens. I used an 8x Neutral density filter to allow me longer exposure. Got a set of 3 ND filters off ebay for £15.
