God thats a blast from the past. Was a cute wee biker chick parked next to us, who asked for a ride

so who was i to say no. I think i gave her 3 all in
Didnt realise she was filming it at the time, or else i would have kept my mouth shut, and not shouted at the bikers and numpties quite so much

I think your camera mount required a little servicing

the bikes seem to be going really slow - thought they would put up more of a fight on the straights to be honest - or is it mcApe being being really quick

The standards between bikers at the ring are massive. A really good rider on an R1 is a pleasure to watch and be overtaken by, as apart from a tight corner you will not see him, he will hit 180 in parts, 0-100 in 5 secs, 0-150 in 11 secs.
At the other extreme are the numpties who can not even lean the bike over, have no idea of lines, so ride down the middle of the track.
Sabine loves them and tells them so.

ps a standard YZF-R1 has done Bridge to Gantry in 7.28.
Looking at times over the years, the biggest surprise was James Hunt in a 1976 F1 McLaren M23 in 7.06 and Niedzwiedz in 1982 in a Ford Capri Zakspeed Turbo in 7.08, only 2 secs slower. This was on the full course, not B to G.

Its funny how a cute girl in the pax seat adds an extra 5 mph to your apex speeds

Have to agree Tut. I took my bike over a couple of years ago and I was one of those numpty's however it was rediculous how some cars gave you no room whatsoever. I was happy to pull over and let folk by after the corner but some were so impatient and passed on the bend. I had a couple of very close calls (one porsche GT3 RS passed on a right hander and his rear tyre was within 6 inches of my front). I wasn't that slow (around 9.40 ish) but the bikers who know their way round are a pleasure to watch. Much respect.
