Would the rust not have been removed with some spiriting driving though chap!!!! Fooked if I would bother sanding them! However, looks like a clean example, and will be interesting to get a write up on your views after a spirited drive. Cost wise, was this an affordable decent purchase?! I love all things Porsche, and never having driven the 3.2 interested on your thoughts.

Hi Dave -
Put it this way -
It was £1000 cheaper than I sold my Y reg S2 for !

The rust that was sanded off doesnt wear down with the brakes. - the angle grinder took it back to the bear metal in less than 60 seconds.

Each corner took 15 minutes - including cleaning the alloys inside & out with Wonder Wheels.

What do you live?
I'm in Edinburgh if you want a shot of it....

Cheers

That's a nice car.

I'd be tempted to run a Boxster for a wee while, given the pricing these days, classy, well screwed together and hey it's still a Porsche. Ignore the hairdresser-bashers and enjoy it sir.

Campbell, right now given my choice of steed, I 99% agree with you, as the missus is not an S1 fan, whilst she would happily drive a Porsche/TVR variant.

David, I am through in Edi quite a bit, but tbh, i think driving your porker will end up causing unnecessary pain for me, whilst wedding planning is in action! Thanks though!

Very Nice David.... it looks a lovely example (and there are certainly a few ropey ones out there). :thumbsup
I think my problem was that I saw a 987, liked it, and everytime I looked at a 986 I kept comparing. Clear lights look much better than the fried eggs though & those are great wheels. Glad it's got the dark interior coz some of the coloured ones have been colour coded to excess.

Elises seem to be holding value well, due to many of them being snapped up by people abroad.... amazing what you can get right now for 2nd hand Elise money (or less).

Hope you enjoy it :)

I know what you are saying Andy. I dont like the blue leather & especially the blue dash boards & blue steering wheels. - orrible.
Theres also turquoise leather - :puke

I nearly bought one with the red leather & a red & black dash - but it had a red steering wheel...... (some have black)
