For those who took part, this needs no introduction.

For those who haven't heard of it, this web site might go some way to explaining:

See the Stelvio 2001 link for specifics on this particular trip.

Anyway, my rough n ready 35mm scans...think I have higher res somewhere but couldn't find in a hurry:

Ross was different then than he is now, and I doubt if I would have been his choice as number one driver, but I don't think that I scared him.

for avoidance of doubt, the 2001 trip didn't actually go anywhere near Passo dello Stelvio...but the spirit of the original trip was there in spades, and the roads in the Spanish mountains were a match for most of what we found on the original 1999 trip

my pics from 1999 are on trad photo paper in a box somewhere I think, but I aim to rake 'em out...watch this space!

Holy thread resurrection!!

I found the negatives from my Stelvio 2001 disposable camera - Digital camera's were expensive toys back in 2001, so a £4.99 snappy snapper from Boots was utilised instead...

Anyway, we have a Nikon Coolscan unit at work, so I fed them into it...Not the best (rather poorly composed / out of focus), but give a little flavour of the trip...

Good times, good company - thanks to all for posting these up. What's so good about them is that everyone is smiling all the time, and mostly that's what I remember about any of these trips - not the roads, not the driving, just the giggles :-)

Cheers,
Robin

Great to see more pics to remind us of probably the most momentous trip that we have ever done together.

Nearly three weeks of a different route every day and a different hotel every night, and a story and memories from every one. Oh to be able to wind the clock back, only nine years ago but I was fit as a butchers dog back then.
