CATCHING AIR - JIM CLARK RALLY

Post by AVIATOR » Thu Jun 18, 2009 5:01 pm

Afternoon all,

Thought I would share some of my pictures from last months Jim Clark Memorial Rally where I managed to log over 2,000 images.

With so many pictures, I am planning on breaking them down with a few different threads. The first one being this; CATCHING AIR

Please let me know what you think, quite pleased with a few of them and after almost being too close for comfort three times in ten minutes yesterday afternoon, I have a newly found admiration for the guys and girls at the controls.....

Anyway here you go.......CATCHING AIR.

Excellent shots, some height they are reaching, must be fun when they land.

Nice pics :thumbsup

Compared to all the others, I assume the driver of this Impreza pulled back on the wheel too hard?

There is a technique to flying a car. I remember the late Colin McRae talking about it; Too much acceleration on take off, and the car will land rear first - slamming the front down; chicken out at the last minute and brake, and the car will land nose heavy; a nice balanced flight and landing requires a suitably controlled take off. :thumbsup
