SPA FRANCOCHAMPS 5th+6th OCT 2009

Post by Nig The Stig » Thu Oct 08, 2009 4:16 pm

Just came back from 1 day at the ring and 2 dats at Spa.

Both events were totally washed out, better if you had a boat than a car. Never the less took my new motor onto both circuits and had a whale of a time. Been to the ring before so the laps were only to show the misses it as she's never been before. It was my first time on a track with the exige and what a track to pick to get used to your car. Spa is an absolute dream.

Here's some pics of my time at Spa, enjoy.

Hope to get there Andy before they stick me in a box.

Just love the looks of that circuit, I have the car and maybe the ability to make the most of it, and as a flat track hater, and a hilly circuit lover, Spa has to be my aim.

Worst case - you decide the day, and I'll collect you at Liege airport

Well done for getting the car on track despite the weather - it's just a brilliant circuit, wet or dry!

I would be back there in a flash if I could work out the logistics - but domestic and work commitments mean it probably won't happen this year - still something to look forward to for next year :-)

Tut, I'm sure we can get your car driven out there by some willing victim ...

Cheers,
Robin

Has it got 1 hump or 2? Maybe it's 'cos you can light a ciggie as it's that long (although not in those damp conditions).

Kemmel Straight

Trying to light a fag whith a helmet in is not easy :thumbsup

We went round the track on scooters at night, you would not believe how much of a hill it is from the top of Eau rouge to Les commes.

I have some photos, will upload them when I get a minute.

I would be daft enough. However I doubt I would ever get over the fact that I drove someone else's car to the circuit (and perhaps on it, for good behaviour!).

Like Tut, I too have a goal for Spa but it's financial logistics rather than health that's holding me back. And it's starting to look like Mickey Mouse wants a visit from our kids next Spring which puts paid to all of next year's holiday budget and then some

But you never know. I am enjoying the writeups and pics and the fact that friends and acquaintances on here are going over and enjoying the place, and increasingly hoisting the flag for SE upon Belgian soil :thumbsup

It took me a while to organise getting to the Ring, but when I did, it was worth the wait. Same in this case I am certain.
