Wow! That looks fantastic! The colour really suits the car. Nice wheels too.

Thanks guys! Im not so keen on the wheels but they look ok for now. We're going to get our original ones blasted and coated in matt black at some point. And I think a black petrol filler cap would finish it off.
I was tidying out all the reciepts and invoices for the car the other day and I found the reciept for the engine. We bought it on 2 October 2008, and the next day, Alan took out the K series. Our MOT certificate to get it back on the road was dated 3 October 2009!

So it took exactly one year from start to finish.
Totally worth it. (Though not sure Alan would agree, yet!

)

Great collection, Jen, and quite a scrapbook you could now pull together. That would be a cool thing to do actually, Lotus themselves might even be interested - are they still doing their Pure Lotus mag for example?
One thing I've concluded though...Burnt Orange must be
murder to photograph well. Sunlit shots just don't do it justice...but I did notice one type that does. Where the car is in shade but is lit by "secondary" sources, or reflections, etc. Perhaps one of the resident SE photographers with a car-specialism could lend a pointer or two?
Like I said before, an intriguing project and one which in the fullness of time might be carried out on old UJI ... although I think I would fit a TDI engine rather than a Honda

Looks Fab
But I agree on the wheels...........got to be black .......to match the interior theme and contrast with the paint
It's amazing what you learn on "How to look good Naked"

Car looks jaw-droppingly fantastic
Have to say I like the gun-metal grey wheels, they complement the orange perfectly - think black would be a step too far /2p

looks great, but it won't look like that for long after a few SE (NE) runs.

We need to get a shot of all the Team Vetco/GE cars soon. There should be about 7 I think. Spotted you Jen nicking the car the other day. I am officially the early warning system. I pinged Alan at work at told him that some hot chic was nicking his car
Fashion note: Pink top clashes with the orange paint
Car is grand and I love the engine sound. It hits that second cam thingy and goes Roaaoaoaorrrr......and as passenger you also go Roaaaaoooaaarrr......but with a more holy crap I'm scared accent
Top marks to laddie boy for his hard work!

Looks so good, a year is prtty good going, terrifed to think of the total cost but whatever it was it was worth it. Were those pics taken down by the mushroom farm at Balmedie? Also I think your wheels are great. The shot outside the SECC at night really reminds me some of the press pics taken when they launched the elise but that was chrome orange I think.
Anyway well done and I hope you both get to enjoy it.
