Picked this up last night (NLC)

Post by gorrie » Sun Feb 21, 2010 5:16 pm

Seems good nik for a 46K 5yr old French car !! Not too many rattles & knocks like I was expecting.
Decent turn of pace, & seems more economical than the RX8 it has replaced (I've just done 190 miles & still just above half a tank... £53 to fill from the light).

Pretty cheap, as it's had too many owners for the year... but loads of receipts, wheels all uncurbed & hardly a mark on the bodywork.
Wife seems happy :)

Shameless plug time,

Graeme has a red R26 F1 edition in stock just now at MMC edinburgh. Its in mint condition, with low miles, and is a great car if anybody is looking for one. He very kindly let me take a sedate test drive in it the other day, but i have decided to stick with sportscars rather than being sensible.

How did you find the R26 Neil?
I was trying to keep the budget down (as it will prodominantly be my wifes commuter car). Would have loved to have splurged on an R26 but this was like half the price !!
Did make some cheeky offers on an F1 (non-R26 version), but it wasn't going over board as it's only the R26 which has the LSD.
Standard with Cup pack... that'll do for what we need :)

I thought the F1 230 had an LSD??

I liked the car, it was pretty nippy, handled well, and is very practical, but something about it didnt click with me. Looking at a Cayman S now

Only the R26 and R26R come with the LSD.

Neil, I think the one you test drove would have had an LSD... you get an F1 (225) that is pre-R26 with no LSD.... then the R26 F1 230 I think the power hike from 225 to 230 was to cater for the LSD so that power at the wheels wasn't down.
Mark... nope, KH is not on the cards... I'm doing a seasons Kart racing at Raceland this year, and I've got a race on 28th... reckon I'd get a boot to the left teste if I attempted a KH outing on the 27th !!!

lol.

I use a tactic called lying with the other half. Its worked well me so far

eg. C'mon babes 16 grand for an Exige in this condition is a bargain :drive
