Knockhill Classic Speed Fair - 23rd July 2006

Post by Stewart » Sun Jul 23, 2006 9:41 pm

What a fantastic day. Wish I had went along earlier. I may have got to park in the Lotus section. Instead I was away up at the top of the hill. Hello to all the guys on the stand that waved to me as I made my exit at about 2:30pm

Here are some shots of the day.

Was a great day - If you left at 230 you missed BY FAR the best bit!

I only took some phone snaps, but you dont see a Zonda, various Lambos, 430s and an F40, a wild looking 911 going at it round KH very often. Sneaked into the pits (nobody said anything) and took these, wish I had a camera..... The sound of the F40 chasing the Zonda chasing a countach was 8)

I was there with work, which meant free entry although it did involve the disgrace of driving past the Lotus stand in a Ford S-max! Seemed to be loads of Elises in the car park, pity they couldn't have been shown together. Cracking day out, I even got my photo taken with Jackie Stewart! Got a few snaps of the Jim Clark car also! Did you see the Sagaris?

Never had the guts to sneak into the pits, was left staring through the fence behind, but I did get some on-track photos which I'll post if they come out decent. What was the maroon car amongst the super marques that almost resembled an exige?

Still pretty green to the forum but do we do car show's on Scottish Elises?! A stand/get together/barbeque at the next decent show could be good.

Yup was the ultima, its in the pic I posted above (the tent one with the line-up).

Was cool seeing a Diablo parked next to a Murcielago, they are quite similar but totally different if you get me, also spent ages just looking at and around the F40. There was nobody else in the pits until the drivers came in and fired up the cars - the noise in the tent was great!

Did anyone take pictures of the Espirits that were there for Scott?

Fab day indeed, the warm, dry and sunny weather helped no end. I'm glad they arranged an event like this in Scotland, saves a 900 mile round trip.

Mike.

I imagine the Lambos were there courtesy of Carlo at Top Gear Cars (http://www.topgear-cars.co.uk). I was there recently looking at his Ferrari and the place was stuffed with Countachs, Diablos and the rest. The F40 in the pic was there as well. cool. 8)

Yes some were from topgear and some were owners cars, the black Gallardo was a guy from Glasgow who I chatted to for a bit. He was saying he has done a couple of KH days before but needed a new set of tyres after at £1300 so didnt want to do too many!
