Brill - will watch the whole film later, but I sat in Tony Ponds TR8 a year later when the rally was based in Aviemore. My dad used to look after all the drivers in the POst House Hotel in Aviemore.

Brought back lots of great memories, was their at the Trossachs in my Mk 1 Escort dreaming of having a Mk 2 like my hero Roger. Afraid a 1300 Escort was a bit of a slug and a Mk 2 only remained a dream for a long time.

Now this has really got me going, spotted this on PH while in dream mode. http://www.pistonheads.com/SALES/2626805.htm , if only I had a spare £30k, still wet dream tonight is a distinct possiblity.

Fantastic find Dom - a bit before my time ( but not much ) think my first visit to the Scottish stages was maybe 2-3 years after that but lots of the same machinery still around. I would happily spend £30k on the Cossack Mk2 replica if funds allowed.

What a great bit of film. Loved that they stopped a passing motorist for a replacement diff. Don't you wish homologation rules still applied!
