Some pics from today. Did a quick microlight flight from Perth up along Loch Tay and back along Loch Earn.
Total flying time was about an hour
Flying up towards Pitlochry in the distance
Loch Tay with Schiehallion in the distance
Kenmore and Loch Tay
Turning around Lochearnhead to fly down Loch Earn
Loch Turret Reservoir

Scotty, a few of the folk from Perth fly up there regularly and it is also the best strip for me and Wendy to land at to meet her mum and dad from Macduff so it will be a regular haunt

Awesome pictures and scenery. The colours are stunning. One of my favourite summer evening bike routes.

Great pictures - such clear air on high pressure days in winter.
Curious to know what the typical climb rate of a microlight is like? Can you stop and restart the engine safely mid flight or is that a no no?
Mark

If the engine fails (doesn't really happen but you have to practice just incase).. you become a very aerodynamic glider and will default to an air speed of 60 mph which gives a minimum rate of sink of just under 500ft / min.
I've been following with interest.

Well, boxes ticked for lots of different planes and a helicopter, but microlight, tandem paraglider and hot air balloon are missing from the portfolio

Rate of climb with with a pax and at MTOW would be about 1200ft/min, so a bit less than solo.
Can the engine be switched off and restarted? ... yes. Part of the practice for Emergency forced landings involves switching off the engine to do dead-stick landing approaches and obviously restarting it is (hopefully!!) uneventful.

I think I can see what's coming next as well
Can you jump out of one? ...Err... I don't know, but I will ask the CFI and let you know
