LoT November 23/24 2012 Oulton Park/Anglesey Coastal

Post by Fluoxetine » Sun Nov 25, 2012 1:09 pm

Alas, a combination of an old camera body with ropey AF, lack of mono pod and shaking like a sh*tting dog due to the cold, meant that I couldn't take advantage of the fancy zoom lens I had at the weekend...

(Plus I was out driving a fair bit too... )

Here's my efforts, anyway - Great weekend :cheers

Some crackers in there Ross, nice one! Particularly like Kevin's with heat haze over it, and the 2 green snots with orange 911 mixing it. Oh and Kelvin sideways...he did that a lot this weekend :-)

Don't need my plate removed. Just straightened up, LOL.

Don't have many pics myself (likewise...out driving!) but am working on the video blockbuster right now...

Looks rubbish. I've just finished working nightshifts whilst you were away and I bet I had a better time.

(OK actually deeply envious)

These guys I believe.

Just mailed them to see if they have anything of me as a memento. Pro shots from Spa a couple of years back were most excellent, made a book out of them :-)

Grab your popcorn.

Watch on YouTube

Now I don't pretend that this is the greatest thing in on-track videos.

I created it as my own memento of my "big outing of the year" and I'm really chuffed with it.

It was shot using an iPod Touch 4th gen, mounted with a "pikey satnav mount" (according to Ross Taylor, kind donor of same), and edited up with Sony Vegas Movie Studio (excellent once you get to know it).

I chose a pair of laps from both circuits, which in rough terms show something from earlier in each day, then later when I got a bit "faster" (sic). Just to give an idea of which way each track goes. Doubt my lines are worth toffee ;-)

Also wanted to show something of the ambience of the paddock and pits of both tracks.

If anyone feels their cameo appearance is compromising, get in touch. It will fall on deaf ears though!

Hope you enjoyed.

Campbell

PS - yes I noticed the letterboxing is off, something I need to look at in the rendering settings...but you get the idea...
