Old Pictures of Old Fords - Knockhill 1988

A couple of weeks ago I bought a negative film scanner with a view to digitising my old photos. It has been great fun looking back over old pictures that I can't even remember taking.

I came across a spool that I took at an RS Owners Club meet at Knockhill in 1988 (I think).

Been really impressed with the scanner. It is a Nikon Coolscan IV.

Hope you like them :D

IN the same spool was a couple pictures of my dad's cosworth and one of my my fiesta S - I loved that car and thought it was the fastest thing ever :)

Brilliant photos Stewart, from 25 years ago they are as good as any taken nowadays.

Good to see old pictures of KH before I discovered it ten years later.

:love Those are awesome pics. From the era when I was a spotty youth dreaming of these cars. It's funny how after attending RSOC meets for years, it almost looked like it could have been photos from a recent event. Love the pic of your fezza, I started in a Mk2 Pop plus....

This pic is gorgeous...but I'm biased.

Very cool,
If only we could go back in time and tell them all to wrap the cars up and hide them away in garages as they appreciate massively.
Also, yay for film, puts most current digital consumer cameras to shame still.
Very nice, thanks.

I guess I'm a bit different here... Don't get me wrong, I respect a lot of the stuff there - a screaming BDA is a wonderful thing - but I can't get excited about them.

I'm biased as my parents worked in a Ford dealership in the late 70s and early 80s, so I know what 'orrible old nails these things were under the skin...

Quite randomly a friend sent me pictures of my old car today as it appeared in a magazine very recently. Hasn't changed at all since I owned it, bar a set of wheels and few engine rebuilds I know about, but that's T4s for you! Credit to the chap, I sold it in bits after giving up after a few rebuilds myself....lol

Great pics, I remember going to days like that (though I'd only have been 6 in 88 so maybe later than that...)

The quality looks good, what negative scanner did you buy? (have now re-read the first post ;))
How good quality / high resolution will it go before quality deteriorates or is that simply film quality dependant?

It will go up to 34mb file size, can't remember how many dpi it is but i think it could be 9600dpi.

These pics were scanned at 6mb and then reduced to about 500kb for t'internet. I was completely blown away with the quality. I can highly recommend it or something along those lines. It is a bit time consuming but will only need to be done once. Ultimately i will be re-selling the scanner and will offer it to SE first. Meanwhile I am only about halfway through
