Looking good 8) Are you hand or machine polishing it?

Good progress so far - the starlight black is a great colour when polished, but a b#gger to scratch / swirls easy!

Machine polishing. I have been detailing for 7 years plus now so quite handy with a machine or so.

Been a pro detailer for few years. Had to take time off to do this but I had to get it done :)

Should be fine once complete. It is getting coated in cquartz coating x2 and with safe washing it will stay perfect for a long time to come.

The paint is hard on a lotus. If you think it swirls easy you don't want a jap car with soft paint lol.

Better than my efforts with a brillo pad, but only marginally ;-)

Do you use wire wool as well? Does a good job of getting the exhaust fumes off the rear clam.

Thanks guys. Will add full album of pics when I get time.

Going to hopefully get more time over winter to do what I think would finish it off.

Polish inside the doors etc.

Get wheels refurbed and then glass coated. Give bodywork a 2nd coating.

A feel like polishing the under trays too. Will see what winter brings as it won't be on road anyway

Haven't updated this in ages.

Story goes. After winter being off the road I had it out 2 times and gearbox decided it didn't like itself no more.

It then went to Automek for 5-6 months it took- sourcing parts, getting round to sending gearbox away etc
I ended up going for uprated 3rd and 4th gears and final drive from juba racing.

New clutch / service etc.

It then went away for painting front end and now it's back now time to get serviced and up for sale.

In total I have done about <2k miles.

I have also renewed loads of bits on front, new fogs etc to replace old crashed ones, new paint protection film after reprint, new advan ao48's lts.

Not so good ownership of a lotus but still glad I had chance to own one.
