Wow!! 8)

Is that an empty multi-storey car park you were in? How did you manage that??

Definitely got to have at least one of them in the calendar!

I disagree with that and it's why I said no photos from anyone professional. If we allow that, then we may as well just pay someone to take some photos of our cars and make the calendar that way. That's not what it's intended to be.

The photos I've posted in the calendar section are by my mate who is a professional photographer, but they were not taken in a professional capacity. He is my mate and brought his camera with him while we were out a drive last week. He didn't charge me for them. It's just the same as anyone's mate brining a camera with them on a drive.

TBH, some of the photos I've seen on here are way better than some I've seen by professional photographers. Plus, with modern camera technology, photoshop, etc. it really does enable amateurs to produce very professional looking images. I honestly thought some of the pictures in the calendar section were by professionals . . . they are that good! 8)

I agree we shouldn't allow people who have paid for pictures to post them in, but I hope I'm not counted out just because my mate happens to do photography for a living. Photos are about the moment as much as they're about the skill of the photographer and I don't think being a professional necessarily makes a difference in the case of this calendar. Many of the "amateur" pictures are better than the "professional" ones, simply because of the moment/mood/situation/quirkiness/etc.

I see the calendar as an opportunity to get a bunch of photos taken by owners over the year. I guess if some of them happen to have been taken in the way you said your mate did then that may be fair enough but it would be better IMO if the photos were taken by SE members.

The photos that JJ has had done by poah are great but there's nothing stopping another 11 people going and doing exactly the same and then suddenly we have a load of pics that nobody here can take any credit for.

OK so if its not decent photos of SE`ers cars you want Si, I offer you this - taken by myself and hand processed in my own dark room.

Simon, I do agree that it would be better if it was photos built up over the years, taken by SE members, and it may even end up that way. However, if you don't allow people to submit good quality pictures of their cars taken by good amateurs, semi-professionals or professionals, then the calendar could end up full of poor quality pictures and people won't want to buy it and put it on their wall/desk.

I'm not necessarily saying that it has to be 12 professional quality pics, but if it ends up being 12 poor quality pics, then I personally wouldn't buy one. I want something nice to look at when I turn the calendar over each month! :)

BTW, I'm not making any comments on any of the pics submitted already . . . just in case anyone gets offended! :D Like I've already said, most of the pics submitted so far look really professional, even though they were taken by amateurs. 8)
