Scottish Elises

Got a set through the SELOC group buy, and fitted them the other night.

Was pretty straightforward, I guess if the car had been older it would have been a bit harder as even some of my bolts were a bit rusty.

I had not seen a decent "before and after" type post on any forums, so thought I would take a couple of shots before and after to show folk who might be interested the difference. Oh, and they were taken with my phone so probably dont show up as good as they could have.

All in all a thumbs up from me. Hope that helps if anyone is thinking about a kit!

How easy was it to do? Clam off job? Do they come with separate ballast units?

Pretty straight forward, much the same as changing the bulbs if one had blown. Only need to take off the wheel and remove the liners and lens cover (which you have to do to change bulbs anyway).

All HIDs (factory fit and kits) need ballasts, apparently they chuck out a billion volts and can kill you. Cool. Oh, and they make that really cool flash when you turn them on.

I can't remember if the Exige is different but you don't need to remove the wheel to get the headlight covers off on mine.

Did you get the full beam as well?

Presume the ballasts are separate modules. Where did you attach them?

mine ended up in Belfast for some bizarre (i.e. parcelforce) reason...

how was the ballast fitting - 1 or 2 ?

Exige is different, the wheelarch liner is one piece with the ducts in it and you cant get that off with the wheel on.

Dip beam only, with full beams on theres no need in my opinion for both to be HID and it makes it silly money.

Ballasts get screwed ( 3 self tappers) into the crash structure next to the Radiator.

someone who cares for their vehicle so as to ensure its value is retained and they dont drive a shed

i must say... the long summer days arent far away.
jj those lights look like just the thing i wanted for my car. so damn scary driving my car on the dual carriage way with the low beam. cant see beyond a few feet in front! is it the same case for all elise S2 or is there something wrong with mine?

I need to get me some of that!
