Archos 404 "Owners Club" AMP3 spec (N.L.C)

Post by Victor Meldrew » Sun May 13, 2007 1:34 am

Just bought the stonking little Arcos 404 and head cam from Shug today. Very impressed.

Now for some techy questions on MP4 files and ripping DVD's.

1. I want to rip from a DVD disc to play it on the Archos. Best software for this?

2. The head can comes with a travel DVR base. I need the lead to go to a scart output TV.

3. The camera is stunning but it has no mount holes to fit a std camera screw on mount. Where can I get a proper clamp?

The above intended as prompters.... will be trawling looking myself but as you may know I havnt had much luck with Google recently
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Step 1.. download latest firmware from web site.
step 2. download plug in no.1 $20
step 3. downoad plug in no.2 another $20

I can now view my dodgy video colection properly and listen to my ripped off music. sorted.

Managed to get some vidoe work done when Mags was over, A few experimental shots from Niel to see how it all works... pretty impresive so far.

From memory, the lead is about 2M - we've been talking to Archos about either longer lead options or an extension though...

:?: John how long is the lead from the Lens to the unit, in fact I might ask Shug that one  and if there are longer leads, if so that might give me an  for work purposes ........
the whole lead is just short of 1.4meters... however... from the switch to the camera its only round 50cm
