You should check it's OK to share the car - a lot of the time both drivers are working at the same, maybe doing different things, so it isn't practical to share a car between two drivers ... best check with them and see what's what.

BTW, like I told you this morning, you span the car anti-clockwise, almost certainly a result of lift off oversteer combined with clipping the puddle with the front left :-)

Cheers,
Robin
I have booked the car they use so we have two cars for the day. He said I should order tires too, I have about 4K left on them just now according to Ali (who did a mini service last night, top guy!).

on the subject of the walshy day, when ed and i went to see him for the first time, we did two days. Agreed it's quite a lot of cash, but i feel it really helped concrete what we'd learnt on day one. and also, as it's so far, it seemed sensible to do two days while we were there..

either way, have fun :D it's the best money you'll ever spend on the car... :D :D

ps you can kill the tyres there, but give event tyres a call and book them to come to the airfield, then you're sorted for the trip home.

Excellent - have fun - like I said this morning - I did almost the same thing in my first ever elise on about the 3rd day I owned it - had just driven all the way back from berkshire, taking in some great roads in the borders in the wet on PZero's (the old S1 tyre which I now know isn't great in the wet, but in those days I knew nothing at all!). I got all the way back to Edinburgh, feeling quite cocky, gave it some beans in a 10mph right hand corner on cobbles, the car slid off the road and crunched the kerb - broke the wheel, the brake disk, the upright and the driveshaft IIRC.

Cheers,
Robin

hey gary, sorry to hear about the bash mate. Im take the loti to work everyday and im pretty damn worried I do something stupid when its wet. I should probably go for a spin around a skid pan to get a bit of confidence more than anything.

Drove to Aberdeen one night. Heavy snow from Forfar onwards. There was so much snow the taxi firms wouldnt send out a cab for me to take me from the car park to the hotel. Had to get the snowplough to tow the car out of the car park and then I drove to the hotel. Full sideways at 10mph all the way up Union street, round of applause from the taxi rank.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

Exactly how I feel. Had the car from March, and heard all the "but you're only 25, you'll kill yourself in that" from family and friends, my saving grace is that i'm terrified of the car.

First day I took it out in the rain, I gave it a little too much out of a roundabout and the back end slid round. not much, but enough to kill what little confidence I had! Trouble is, money isn't the most abundant thing in my life so i'm presuming a Walshy day isn't on the cards for me any times soon.

I'm seriously considering the KH all day thing though, before the snow comes in...

sorry to hear about the prang... 10p says that a year from now you'll think back on it with a "live and learn" kind of attitude. I know do....

Nice one on the walshy day though! After seeing the 20sec clip from his website, i'm gonna get the DVD for a look.... Looks seriously good!

Cheers,

Steve

Thats what scares me, if you were only doing 10mph - how the heck did the car react so insanely?

i feel the car reacted fine?
it was me that reacted poorly

the elise is just one of those cars that you need to try and learn to drive all over again

most of what i have learned before doesnt really apply to the car

but i think the most important rule is to make sure you are pointing the way you wana go before giving it some in the wet

i feel very safe in the wet now....
like i said im glad it happened....its a very steep learning curve!!
