Chrome Orange Exige in MMC...history....

Post by Michael » Wed Aug 01, 2007 11:36 pm

Hi Guys..

havent been around for a while following the sale of my sports tourer and still have the bug....!!

So a wee warning to those who are a about to buy a Lotus...there's no going back!!!

There's a 190 Exige at MMC just now. 25995 asking.

Anyone know the car? The guy who had it is moving on to a chrome orange £51k jobby with full blown everything...

The 190 is having its nose done for stone chipping...its clearly been on track etc. and the owner has been yearning for more punch. Is there a significant risk of the engine blowing during (my more sympathetic) use that you would advise your own brother not to buy if he wanted it...?

Cheers guys...

Wouldn't think so - has been on track very little at all.

Seems pretty steep asking price, unless I'm missing something?

Hi Guys,
it does indeed sound like my old car. Was a good car, with no hassles. It's a performance pack version, which i think is relatively rare in orange at least. A few extras too
braided hoses and upgraded fluid.
lowering of cam change [very worthwhile]
RS 42 pagid pads, though not sure how much longer they have to go

PM me if you want any more info.

Just picked up the 255 and am starting the frustrating running in period. will hopefully get it on track more than i managed with the last one...

Cheers
D.

i was all set to buy this car m8 , just so happened it wasnt ready in time or it would probably be in my drive at the moment. I wasnt really after the performance pack to be honest but after doin some research i quite fancied it . Also the uprated brakes n stuff sounds cool. didnt know it had the ecu remap done , havent been in a car with this so dunno what its like . As you would expect you may pay an extra grand or so through dealer , but if i am being honest , having gone through the whole private purchase process next time id maybe go to dealer . Fair do's if you know the private seller but i didnt and traveled way down to leeds. Heads constantly been filled with worry that iv been sold a sh*t or its been clocked or who knows what , especially since my gearbox fcuk up .
I was assured by grahme that the car would be immaculate apon purchase , were as mines has the odd nasty stonechip.

decisions a hard one alright , each has pros and cons
