I meant to update, as i have Lord paine jnr updating me every night, sounds like they are having fun!

Tom's car nearly didn't make the ferry as it wouldn't start!
Ed burnt his knee on Tom's Exhaust
They all got hammered on Tuesday night, Tom especially, Ed and Tom got lost on way to track, didn't arrive until 11.30am, then lunch was at 12.30pm for an 1.5 hours(!!!) then Scotty let Ed drive the 340R!

Last text was last night, Ed was hammered so maybe it is Tom's turn to be the adult tonight!

Usual SE continental outing!! Tuesday night, met up in Dijon, out for a meal en masse, drunk the Ibis out of beer at night, talking the usual gibberish!! Sadly no barmaids with tattoos to chat up tho.

On track in the morning, enjoyed drive in Scottys 340r, track was lots of flowing corners and then one massive straight where some cars were pulling 140, before hevy braking for a tight right hander. Paxed with McApe, who demonstrated his usual exuberant cornering style, then wondered why the rear tyres went off !!

Tom & Ed turned up at lunchtime, looking a bit worse for wear, bad sign with 5 more nights to go. These youngsters cant hold their drink like we used to do when we were their age.

Usual other SE activities going on in the pit lane, Kelvin always with his rubber gloves on pretending to be adjusting something technical, and Robin touching up the paintwork on his toe nails, Mcape gesturing wildly with the pretend steering wheel, to all those that would listen to him, Tut staying out on track all the time to make sure he got his moneys worth, Ali analysing his last spin off, and wondering if he could export the shed to Nigeria, Scotty tutting at tut, Lawrence adding an air of respectability to the occasion, etc etc!!

Weather looked a bit iffy by lunchtime, we headed north homewards to leave the others waiting the rain. All in all a good day.

Sounds like another fun track day today, albeit no great grass run off like yesterday and concrete instead at Chirade, not to mention fog and another French lunch of 2 hours!

The track seems to have punished Andy and Ali cars as the wheels bearings have gone and will not be getting fixed and instead will take a couple of weeks for the AA to have them towed back! Hire cars at the ready!

Anyway it is off to the ring tomorrow, and we shall see what time hire cars can get round the ring in I guess!

:P

Got back alright yesterday. Wasn't expecting to get back yet, but after a wheel bearing in Dijon (which was repaired thinks to the Scottish group :cheers ) and -more serious- a broken RH inner CV joint, I had to abandon Lucy Lervis and head home ...verrrrrry slowly...

Interesting drive through Belgium at night though, it seems everybody is drunk driving there :drink

Anyway, thanks again to the Scottish group and hope to see you all back in September again! :thumbsup :thumbsup

Yvo - you did your fair share of helping the SE crew too - parts before 8am in France is nothing short of a miracle :-)

Iain - if you're talking about the youtube video that isn't me or my car - only spins I had were at the wet track day at Lucy-Levis (and to be fair just about everyone else was falling off too!).

Cheers,
Robin

Yes i hear McApe got away Scot free, and the good news is that wheel bearings were fixed all round, so no hire car!!
