That's dreadful news, once again so sorry.

PS Gary (I'm sorry if this is unnecessary but advice never hurts) but speaking from personal experience junk food brought in by mates was the absolute highlight of my extended hospital stay in my late teens. That and books/magazines although these days I would vote for audiobooks on an ipod if she is in for any length of time. A decent pair of Shures and the hours would sail by.

Boredom and crap food have a way of sapping spirit like nothing else...
She has my massive laptop and millions of DVD's and tv shows to choose from as well as a DS with 40+ games....oh and loads of junk food :)

my cuz had a really hard time in her teens, she had scholiosis(curving of the spine) and had to have a 12hr op to get 2 steel rods inserted in her back to straighten in out.
then a year later,15 i think, she had a 10lb tumour removed ...ovarian cancer...youngest person to have it in the uk ever at the time

was touch and go at one point....it wasnt spotted for ages because she was wearing a full torso plaster cast after her op

thankfully all went well and she now lives in barcalona with her bf

shes a trooper and never once complained, and still managed to study for her exams and pass them all....shes a hero in my eyes

She's inspiring, amazing how we find the way to cope when things are beyond dreadful.

She's definately turned a corner and we are all looking forward to the day when she is "eventually" discharged.

Can't remember if I posted, she has a condition called "Goodpastures Syndrome". It's nasty.

At the moment she gets a Plasma Transfer in the morning, and is on 70% non forced oxygen throughout the day. Come night time, she has 70% forced oxygen as she seems to weaken when she sleeps.

She is holding up well emotionally, and we all go and visit her every day. We play cards, watch DVD's and generally catch up and reassure her.

I was feeling guilty as hell when I was at home enjoying the things we all take for granted, so I have bought four TV's and DVD players for her ward - there are some desperately lonely people in there with nothing but a heart monitor to keep them company. I thought some TV and video might lift their spirits. I only did it as I overheard a nurse say they have been fundraising for over 6 months to get ONE tv and dvd set.

Apparently they will be installed this evening, hope it helps someone feel better.

Personally I am coping much better this week. It's easier knowing what she has, and knowing it is normally treatable. I have been struggling to concentrate at work mind you, lots to do and I find myself daydreaming.

Thanks for asking, I will keep you guys up to date.

Just been reading this. I don't know you, but my thoughts are with you. It's good to hear there may be light at the end of the tunnel.

Take care.
