1993 (probably).

106 rallye (the original).

First time sideways in a FWD car.

Airborne.

THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Salesman was a tad quiet throughout but generally amicable. Never quite understood why I didn't buy it thinking back, I'd have one in a shot now...

Graeme at MMC is possibly the best sales man i have ever delt with.

When I drove the demo he kept telling me to put the hammer down, it was a little we and having not driven an elise before I was being cautious.

when I drove a boxter the saleswoman had to tell me to stop cutting corners it was a road I knew well and could see there was nothing coming she wasnt too bad tho and let me do well over 100 at one point before making a comment like theres a sharp bend up there. LOL

Greg

Actually it was the new Dunedin, now Peter Vardy.

Ex. demo 2700mls a few choice option for £33K (48K new!!!!!!!), looks a good deal but not sure about the red leather, so not for me.

Looking around though the price is about right for pre-registered demo cars, don't think anyone buys these cars, nice for the exclusivity but maybe not so good at resale, but if you buy cheap you can sell cheap, c'est la vie.

And oh to be 20!!!!!

I wouldn't chop in the elise for a BM just passing the time and considering options.

Z4M probably doesn't tick enough boxes to be my only car so still looking and nothing that matches the Elise dynamically (if there is such a thing, awaits raking!!!!)would be as practical as the VRS at least not within my budget.

Elise stays for now.

It was kilometers/hour

As for the boxster bit I yhad to rule it out, I thought it was a great car to drive and sounded wicked but I hate it with the roof up. just looks wrong.

My intention was to buy a Caymen but the demo wasnt on the road and the elise is cheaper, quicker, more economical and a better handler.

As for the BM i really like it but not that quick and fuel economy is pretty poor. (well according to EVO mag.)

It will be after that where it humps them - my dads Z3M coupe is "rather nippy" 60- 140.

I've just remembered that I put a salesman in hospital on a test drive !! lol  How could I have forgotten that.

It was the Mitsubishi garage out at Newbridge years ago (can't remember if it was a Mitsu franchise back the or not)... I was testing a little used Rover 200 of all things with wife in pax seat and salesman in the back. I had a Frontera at the time and wanted shot of it after I had it fixed up by insurers 'post-shunt'.

Anyway, salesman was a young lad, apparantly a son/relative of the garage owner or something. I wasn't really chucking it about as such, but was making sure it drove OK. He was talkative at first, but less so towards the end... I didn't think much of it. We got back to the garage and sat at his desk to talk figures... he disappeared... 15mins later a colleague advised that the young guy wasn't feeling very well after the test drive. A further 15mins later, an Ambulance crew turned up. We called it a day and I made arrangements to come back a week later. When I went back, I was advised that the young chap had been admitted to hospital with a punctured lung... he should have worn the rear seatbelt then.
