New tires required

Hi my Walshy day is next week, and they said I will definately need new tires after it...

Now I have NO IDEA what tires I need, don't know what I currently have either.

I need to fill in this form:

what tyres have you got on it at the moment? you going to be using the elise in the winter??

I have black round ones at the moment, and yes will be using all throughout the winter.

It's written on the sidewalls....

I'd go for Yokohama AD07s, for all-round use but not sure if the guy Washy uses can supply or not (I think they are dealer-only)

GAry - didn't your car get washed by one of those car-washing geeks recently? IIRC there were wheel pictures on the write-up - have a closer look at the sidewalls.

I'll go out on a limb here and say you're on AD07s at the moment. Get yourself another set.

May I suggest you don't get rid of the old ones... on the basis of your form to date, there's probably 5mm left and someone will kill 'em off properly :lol:

I have about 2mm I think, maybe 1.5mm - but I have also done 10K miles on them :lol:

if you dont even know what tyres you have, are you sure that you need new ones?? Or is this just another one of those situations where you like spending money???? If so, AD07's

Replace now if 1.5 - illegal & will get you points /fine if caught & as a new driver 2 bald tyres = 6 points & your banned !!! even at 2mm they will be crap in the wet. Keith

Will go to Halfords later and get a Tread Gauge.

The tires seem to be sticking fine, maybe I am exaggerating.

It's cold & wet, therefore you have less grip.

j2lot told you the legal depth in the bit you quoted. I'd bet you're just looking for something to spend money on....
