My computer is broken
Actually not totally broken. Problem is I think someone has screwed with the settings. If you recieve an email w. an attachment it wont let you open the attachment. choice of open ,save or cancel. click open, it says there is no file association. it says to sort file association in folder options panel. tried to sort..to no avail.. am stuck ..
As I am about as technicolgically advanced as a frog, I need help!
That question is not only to The Geek, but everyone else as well...
any ideas anyone?

I suggest a pint of lager, accompanied by some nachos. That ought to do the trick.
Greg out.

Looks like the machien might hav lost its setting for what application to use for the file extension .doc . Someone might have installed a text editor or the likes.
Have you tried saving the word doc from the email on to your deskto pthen opening Word manually via start progs and then opening the doc using file and then open and locating it on the desktop ?

I am a div.

Thankyou all for your helpful advice. It turns out I've got Works and not Office. So there is no Microsoft Word.
Ah well... and I even work in IT. A talent well spent it would seem

I wouldn't let an inability to operate Microsoft products worry you - they're only for users!
