Absense Makes the Heart Grow Fonder (not 56kbps friendly)

Post by Stewart » Mon Oct 01, 2007 10:18 pm

Haven’t driven the elise much for the past few weeks, but had a day off today after being on holiday in Florida last week. Wakened up a bit jetlagged so decided to take the car for a spin. Left just before 11 this morning and headed from Fife to Glenisla, Blacklunnans, Black Water, Kirkmichael, Moulin, Pitlochry, Queens View, Tummel Bridge, Coshieville, Bridge of Balgie, Lawers Dam, Killin, Lixx Toll (for fuel), Glen Ogle, Lochearnhead, St Fillans, Comrie, Creiff, Madderty, Perth the home to Fife.

It’s true what they say, “absence makes the heart grow fonderâ€

We sometimes stay in Pitlochary to get away for even 1 night and we always take the back roads .... Banchory,Ballater, Breamar and down through Glenshee.

Queens view is a lovely place but if i remeber rightly theres a bunch of pylons there but i could be wrong (wouldn't be the first time ... ask the wife )

Took a 111R back up that way when the Type72 we had bought wasnt ready on time and it was a total blast although a bit twitchy when cars came the other way on parts.

Aye John its always the way, I'm sure somebody flicks a switch as soon as we get home.

Aye there are pylons right along the south side of the Loch at Tummel

The Queens view is an odd one, the view is renowned as being the outline of Scotland and I stood trying to figure it out.

Later I discovered when looking at old survey drawings, around the house we are working on, that the Loch was flooded for the hydro plant down at Pitlochry. The outline of Scotland lies somewhat below the surface, oh well.

fabulous pictures......great write up.

The car would be on driver training from the College, instructor plus 3.....fast road work for Road Traffic Officer course.

Different from 'Police driver' which has some 'quick' road work.....usually around Peebles and other good road spots.....not to the same extreemes tho....there is a required 1 hour commentary during the standard drive by each candidate whilst on test.....you end up sitting in the back mouthing the words as your colleague suffers

Oops, I perhaps should have posted this in the gallery in order to be in contention

Even though I say so myself, it does look good as the wallpaper on my new 24" widescreen monitor 8)
