I cycle to and from work every day near enough, its sort of dual carriageway and is wide enough for 2 cars and a cyclist each side to pass comfortably. My pet hates are:
Cars not indicating they are turning left and then get all upset when they try and turn into me.
People who weave towards the kerb in traffic while on the phone/doing makeup/snoozing/etc.
Busses who decide to let their passengers off near the bus stop while in traffic, right into my path.
The fact that we have cycle lanes on the straight bits of road but as soon as it gets complicated and dangerous for cyclists the council wimps out and stops the cycle lane... There are hugely complex cycle lane junctions in places where no one would dream of cycling but the main roads mostly have none.
I do have to confess to cycling on the pavement on the way home but its impossible for cars to cross the traffic outside work and I'm not that brave! I do however take the attitude the I should not be there and I don't barge through and I'll wait for people to notice I'm there and let me through as I find a bell is cheeky when the cyclist should be on the road really. I sneak over red lights but just so I'm clear of the traffic turning left, I wait for a green (Or at least for the other lights to change) first before setting off.

OK so I should have added "except where signs indicate otherwise". I will happily share a pavement which is demarcated for pedestrians and cyclists. But I will not share one which is barely wide enough for a pedestrian and clearly does not have cycleway markings on it.
We as a country need to get a lot better at this, if tackling the carbon footprint is to be done with initiatives like greater takeup of cycling. I am a cyclist too, btw, so this is not a bigoted side-swipe. But the Highway Code is there for all road users - which nowadays constitutes a pretty varied bunch...and still includes horses for those that didn't know!

Must admit my biggest pet hate is people not pulling over on the motorway/dual carriageway.
It gets even more annoying after my trip across to Spa and the way the European drivers are at lot more aware of faster vehicles and have no issue pulling over (even with a gentle flash of the lights).
There was 2 of us in the convoy to Spa (me in the elise, mate ahead in his Evo) and the only time we had to flash people were other Brits in their cars that would not pull over for faster vehicles.
Forget the speed cameras - get the policemen out on the roads educating british drivers in proper motorway etiquette.
Must admit we did pull over for other cars also, had a white astra van close to the Elise when we were doing 110 tuts. Right on the back bumper as he wanted to take a picture of the Elise (as one hand on the wheel other on his camera phone)
