Campbell

It does not actually need more power, but it only does 27mpg, and this should take it upto 31. Also overtaking in high gear is not brilliant, at 60 I would have expected not to have to drop down to 5th or even 4th, so hopefully the increase in tq will improve that.

As it is Verians car, and she loves it and has the top down whenever she can, the track is probably not a good idea.

As she does not know about this, that is why I waited 'till she was in Corfu, it will be interesting to she if she notices a difference.

Tut,

Would the old boy (Thor, not you) be interested in some young company for an afternoon?

Mandy & I are off next week and could bring one of the youngsters up with us.

I know Barry didn't get on with the pups in his latter years (to be honest the contankerous old sod did get on with anyone) hence the question.

Tut you are cheeky.

As for not wanting to change down to overtake at 60, I'm afraid this is no bantam weight, high revving Elise we are talking about...it's a Golf-Beetle cross-breed with the aero qualities of a brick ;-) Half the fun of overtaking in the thing should be changing down...if not, you'd be better getting a diesel lump transplanted into it on the quiet instead!

Enjoy.

And yes Mum's the word...until the next TT party of course...

Sorry Mac, missed this initially.

Would love to see you and Mandy and a young pup, but Thor would not be up for it. He is very unsteady on his legs now and tires easily.

He is not in pain and is still part of the family, sleeps most of the day, but still makes a fuss of visitors and friends. However once his back legs give way more than once, or he seems distressed, then that will be time up.

Many thanks for thinking of us.

Received the Audi ECU back three days later, brilliant turnaround despite Royal Mail.

Sent this off to Jason, and if anybody is thinking of re-mapping a VAG engine, then I doubt that you would do better, especially at £99 compared to the regular £400+ from the others.

"Many thanks Jason, amazing turn around time, received it yesterday morning.

Fitted it straight away, and as soon as I turned out of the gate I could feel the difference. Remember I have a S/C Honda Elise, so I know what real performance feels like. Hardly anytime in 1st, then a real push in the back with 2nd and 3rd. As with my other upgrades, corners suddenly come up quicker, and you are braking harder as you realise the extra speed that you are carrying.

Lots of bends to start with which is when I realise that I do not drive the TT that much, so have never had it on track, or checked its limits on the road, so back off a bit. Then a long straight and really pleased that it now has pulling power lower down in 5th and 6th, which was missing before. At 60 overtaking quickly in 6th is feasible now, before it was drop one or even two gears.

If the fuel consumption improves from its regular 27mpg by 10% or so to 31, that would be a real bonus, and in fact would pay for the re-map in about 8 months.

So a very happy customer here, though it will be interesting to see if Verian makes any comment when she drives it after getting back from Corfu. She does not know what I had planned, so initially I will not tell her.

Busy reading up on dump valves now and checking on the various makes on the Net."

Nah, a bit like Thor now Scotty, can not afford to get too excited, so stick to dump valves and replacement air filters.

Tut,

Does Jason do Diesel VAG ecu's? £99 sounds an excellent price. :D

If so what are his contact details/website?

Cheers,

Don

If you fit a dump valve I think she will be likely to notice that ;-)
