Moved house a week ago to a new flat and left the car parked outside (off the road in a residential parking area). Went back to the car 5 days later (been too busy with the flat to drive anywhere!) and spotted some fairly horrific damage, probably requiring a full new rear clam

The thing that I can't understand is how anyone managed to hit the car given where it is parked (see first pic). I can only assume that a delivery van/truck tried a 3 point turn and used my car as a guide to knowing when to stop reversing

Looks like I'm going to have to go down the insurance route as I don't have the sort of spare cash required to fix it after buying the new pad. I assume that I can insist that my insurers use my choice of repairer
