you know you have the ultimate Chief Mechanic, when he sorts the fuel pump issue within 10 minutes - where would i be without Robin :D

RLC's biggest challenge has been thrust upon it, due to the failure of Ariel to meet yet another deadline.

FF6 is now upon the RLC - and surely the ulimate test - 3 tracks in in week one, with a couple of thousand road miles, the the Alps and touring with the boys week 2.

Janspeed replacement courtesy of GregR back on now, although haven't fired her up yet - new number plates being done today, and then once the pax rear wheel bearing is replaced this week, she should be ready.

Tyres present the biggest dilema, as if i do my usual and hoon about with the boys on track even my brand new 48's have sod all chance of 3 track days and 3k miles.

About to call Adam and Page for another set of rears then, call Geary for some RS14's and then work out how to pack everything!

A new level of rough love :)

Have a great trip (same for all SE guys going as well :thumbsup )- look forward to the write up and the photos.

The sound of RLC last night as you reversed into your garage was quite something else. I hope that you have no elderly people living near by

pump was fine just a burned out wire in the connector which Robin sorted of course

The main engine harness connector?

Hmm, weird - that's the only thing I didn't pull apart. T'was the cause of my woes a while back, so I don't know why I didn't think of it

I think that is what Robin said although he probably had a fancy name for it - it was on the left hand side as you faced the car just the one wire had burned out so a quick bypass was required and off she went. Robin gave a very detailed explanation as to the fuse being changed from 10 amp to 20 amp (I Think) and the connector not being up to it. Sure I will get corrected later :?

You would have found it except you cut the wrong wire ("never ask Shug to defuse a bomb" was the quote from last night). Had you cut the right wire then the short from white&purple to the freshly cut wire would have started the fuel pump running. You cut the cranking circuit instead (repaired now).

It was in the EHC1 - blue engine harness connector where brown&slate becomes black.

Cheers,
Robin

Ah so - I was touching the brown/slate in the MFRU large connector, not the main engine harness connector....

Which would have been before the burnt out harness connector?

Oh well, sorted now :)

RLC to sporting GT........changes were made last night!

A brand new probax seat is in the RLC now for the trip, which is outrageously comfy! You new S2 boys don't know how lucky you are, although i dont feel as low or as connected to the car.

Still for the 3k round trip it will be epic! Changing back to a Janspeed and with the addition of a new bearing (rear pax) and the probax the RLC felt quite civilised coming down to the borders last night.

Thats if you exclude the 2 a048's sitting in the pax seat harnessed in

Massive thanks to Ali for the seat. Between that, and Iaudio D2 and some Shure Se530's the RLC was quite a relaxing place to be on the A68, despite the tuttage :D

See the rest of the FF6 crew shortly!

You had cut the starter link rather than the fuel pump link.

Cheers,
Robin

The end of an era!

Tis true, the RLC has a new owner, and its not McApe

Its been a awesome time since i signed for the RLC on the 8th of April this year, but i have just watched Stu drive her off down south!

In vintage RLC fashion, he's hoping to race at Brands, and has his ARDS on Wednesday, and medical on Friday morning! Nothing like preparation.

Ali at SLS, has worked all day to get the RLC sorted for Stu and its off.....my garage would look v.empty if it wasn't for Rolfe's Elise :)

To everyone that has helped on & with the RLC; Robin, Ali, Shug, George, Lawrence, Kelvin, Tom, Steve W, McApe, Ed, Dan & Luke, Stu P, GregR, JohnR..etc a massive thanks - this car has been a testimont to the genius of the SE spirit.

Its been an epic 6 months of ownership, with all soprts of emotions involved. From the highs of the first race, to the lows of the first crash (with a skip and i wasn't involved), to Ali C and I racing up Col de Torini, to Scotty and I having a "chat" with the Gendarme. The moment of taking the glory of arriving and parking in Casino Square (Team Shed), to my first podium finish, then first race win.

Epic!

Robin has been unbelievable through this 6 month spell. You simply couldn't meet a kinder more helpful, knowledgeable guy, who you can also have a cracking laugh with! I'm sure anyone who counts Robin as a friend knows exactly where I'm coming from on this one!

I've been very lucky, and am a bit gutted this evening :(

Hoping the events in 2 weeks time though might help me get over it........
