Thanks John

Fsntastic day and only me 2nd track day of the year - was a wee bit rusty.

Loved it when the track started to dry out and dido Jonathan - you are a hooligan and bring out the worst in me <BG>
Really found my confidence again once I had been in the car with Jonathan, just wish there were a couple of hours after that to play more :D

Roll on 2008

Yeah Dave, you can tan 4 bottles of wine later, photies first.

Chop chop.
Enjoying a nice family day at the moment, however will be home for Top Gear and will get some photos up. I did a very quick review of them and there are some good ones, conversely like John, there are out of 400+ some gash ones, about 80% of them, mainly due to my finger falling off due to frostbite, my eye freezing shut, so unable to focus clearly, and the decent half of the track being shut of for spectators due to the rally school!

I think i am going to get a proper pap lens of 800mm and sit in the car!

Kenny, i got two of your spins by chance, the same one Martin of TRS captured, you were carrying far far too much speed into it from Duffus, and the result was inevitable, hence why we picked our cameras up again!

TBH, i dont think you are happy going to Knockers and not spinning any more!

Sanj i missed yours, and D your car seemed to be going well, with the usual ploomes of gasses exiting your car on downshift! it is almost like it should be flaming, but instead, your gasses don't ignite!

D

I did notice you were much faster later in the session..... so much so I actually thought it was Mac driving until I saw him in the cat later that lap! It all becomes clear now!

Roll on 2008 indeed!

In case anyone thought they were passing Kev a lot, I was out there too in a grey S2 for my first track day and also felt like a moving chicane at times, especially early on when really wet. Hope I didn't hold anyone up too much through the corners. I want to blame my balding Bridgestones in the wet, but a 'moment' in the warm up laps at Dufus followed by another at Clarks on my first open lap didn't do much for my confidence and spent the rest of the time slowly trying to build it back up. Felt much better once the dry line started to appear.

Oh... and a big :thumbsup to Kenny for the pax and showing me how it is really done. I echo Robin's earlier post. (sorry Meatball !) Easily the fastest I have been in a car around Knockhill.

Thanks John for the organisation and nice pic in the gallery of my car - the one you say was taken of car at speed at 2-3m using a wide angled lens. Wheels have come ups great in the fading light.

Thinking seriously about hiding all his photos due to ones above!

John

Tried to get one of the Instructors to come out with me on the past few SIDC days, but they have always come up with an excuse not to do so.

Do you think that I have BO and need to start using a deodorent?

Tut, perhaps it's because they think your car will kill them ... ;-)

Dave, some nice pictures in there. My personal favourite is:

clicky

Shows the car doing some work :-)

Nice to see several of Kenny "off the racing line" too ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

Thanks to John for another great day and big thanks to Dom for proving beyond all reasonable doubt that the car is fine and the driver could do with some work!

Felt the speed differential between myself and the mitsuoobys was much greater on sat so as such had to get out of the way a lot but enjoyed the day non-the-less.

Good to meet some new people as well :wavey

EDIT : Oh and thanks to Steve for taking shelley out and for everyone else for making her feel welcome. Her first trip up to the coldest place in the universe and, thanks mainly to the coffee machine and the warm viewing gallery, won't be her last 8)

I was right behind you at Clarks when that happened, looked like you'd gone in too hot, tried to scrub some speed, locked up then you were facing me about 2 yards in front! Luckily you were still spinning so headed off into the gravel and it looked like you were lucky not to tag the tyres.

Awesome day John, I thoroughly enjoyed it. I managed 150 miles on that tank of petrol; possibly my worst mpg ever

I'd started experimenting with trail braking into Clarks toward the end of the day. I really thought it felt like it was making a difference and was getting more drive out of the corner, the experts will tell me if thats BS or not. I just over stepped the mark on that occasion, was too hot as you say and the back went and there was no way I could collect in time. I was more concerned about the Red scooby that was directly behind me. Had a word with the driver later to apologise but he was just laughing.
