SDMC Autotest, Fordoun Aerodrome, April 20th

Post by creationracing » Sat Apr 05, 2008 1:23 pm

Hi lads and lasses,

Just to let you know we're organising an Autotest (Clubsport and Production Car) at Fordoun Aerodrome on Sunday April 20th. Got 12 tests lined up, a good variety ranging from tight and technical to quick and flowing, so should be a good event! Most of our previous Autotest have been in car parks and such like so we're looking forward to making the most of the space at Fordoun! We ran some stages of the NE25 Classic Rally there last year and they were about the best of the whole event, we'll try to make the Autotest just as good!

Just some general info: No helmet or racesuit is required, and any car is suitable without modification. Production Car event can be entered without a competition licence, however an MSA Motor Club membership is required. Entry fee is £20 before April 16th with a 50% surcharge for entries received afterwards. More relevant info on the PCA:

"Every PCA Car must have been in series production and on general sale, available from stock through normal dealer outlets in the UK. Open or sports cars can only compete with their hoods erected or a hard top fitted"

"One Passenger must be carried in each competing car to assist in giving directions to the driver. The passenger must occupy the seat beside the driver and wear a properly fastened and approved seatbelt at all times during the test. No other passenger is allowed. If the Driver holds a valid, non-provisional RTA licence, the passenger must be 14 years or over".

If interested please feel free to send PM or email and I'll do my best to help.

Which is fair enough comment!

We had intended having the paddock in the bumpy bit and running two tests, one in each direction on the smooth parts, but had been (not very politely) requested to move from that section by an unpleasant fellow claiming to own the land. So we had to make do with what option we had left.

Paul - If you paid your entry fee in advance it'll be refunded. Also to compensate you for fuel costs etc next time we do an Autotest at AECC or other suitable venue you and your other driver get a free entry. Hope this goes someway to making up for it. My apologies on behalf of the whole club.
