got lot's of work done today
passenger side was stripped again and the MK2 bush was fitted, the removal of the old bushes nearly resulted in me loosing an eye, luckily it hit my eye lid and just stung like a fecker. new bushes in and greased up. it's a horrible job and you need 3 pairs of pixie esc hands to get the top wishbone as well as the packing washers all in place.
Steering rack is also back in and I will be in a great deal of pain tomorrow due to all the contorsions I had to get myself into.
Pictures to follow of the first side complete.
Things to do
- get the drivers side wishbones coated
- get it all fitted
- car may need a new battery as it's being tempremental, charged it up and the car didn't start
today without touching the battery it started first time (sounds so good) after working on it for 6 hours it wouldn't start again
the fuel pump primes ok but all you get is a click when you try and start her
- re-rivit the rear diffuser, and get it powder coated.
- do the rear brake lines and shockers
- get it geo'd

You can have the old battery from my car - it's a halfrauds 4 year job, but I replaced it with a new unipart battery after the car wouldn't start, anyway, it turned out to be corroded earths, not the battery d'oh! Once the new one was in, I wasn't for taking it back out
A good bit of progress at last

Hopefully she will be down of 4 wheels tonight
all I need to do is find the circlip that holds the bearing in the hub carrier and we are good to go
lack of circlip is a worry though

mild steel + UK roads + water
I had to drill the nuts to split them no amount of heat would budge the feckers
putting them back in was a skoosh though
tonight i start on the bodywork and my nemisis the coin tray
