Big thumbsup to woody for organising today's event, huge amount of fun and nice to try something a bit different! Good to meet a few more people today, actually turned into a good social event waiting in the queue :D

I didn't feel I really got the hang of the morning layout, but this afternoon was superb, I'm sure my times were rubbish but it was great fun anyway, even if the escape road at the hairpin came to the rescue a couple of times

Had a fun run back up the A70 with Merlin and Mass, hope I wasn't slowing you supercharged boys up too much

You were doing just fine. :D

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

You can safely run two cars at Kames with half a lap between them, or do the Club rules lay down only one car at a time?

Tut, to run two cars on the track I think you have to pay more to have marshalls and ambulance in attendance.
It was just a fun day rather than serious competition so only had a marshall on the start line.

Woody - great day out mate - please pass on thanks to everyone involved with organising and running it, great fun.

Was nice to see everyone out, in great form, and quite a few people taking to a track for the first time. For those that haven't driven it, Kames it a bit like a tarmac farm track, great fun, but very tight.

Sanjoy was making me laugh, with his desire to try to get his shed sideways at eny given op. Spinning is a sign of effort, and congrats on missing everything. Do spin 2 or 3 times at Kames and stillmanage to clip nothing is quality, almost as good as your vault in to the car :D

Went out with Shug, who was in typically bouyant form, and hoping to get back to his sideways antics of old, although i think having his car set up properly was perhaps meaning it wasn't trying to kill him as much as the old set up! Cheers for the pax dude - we need to get out more :thumbsup

Going out with Big D showed you just what a different animal the Evo was, and great fun. We had a very interesting chat about the differences and then Big D showed me just what utter contempt the Evo holds for kerbs the Atom would spit the dummy over! Awesome laugh mate! Anyone that hasn't been out with D, definately worth it as ; A - he can peddle, and B - its so different to the RWD cars, and is great to witness being driven at that pace! :thumbsup

George and i held our first Scottish Atom Owners Club meeting, AGM, strategy confernce, and had a great day hooning about. Really tight, so getting it sideways for the willing crowd was tricky, but i was trying. Had to start concentrating though when after bieng told there was no timing, found out George and I were heading the field on 29 secs anticlockwise, so went out for the final session and posted a 28, only for George to match it straight after! Great effort! :cheers

The SAOC then headed for Strathaven, at what can only be described as a spirited pace! Ali, was oblivious to the fact that we were well in to Vtec in 5th, and was happily enjoying her day with the Atom. I couldn't believe how quickly strathaven arrived, although with George to follow i had a good guide, who has definately driven that road 1 or 90 times!

The SAOC will return to Kames I'm sure, especially given the proximity to Georges house, although it wont be June 5th, as I'm away sailing, and to Arran.

Really good to catch up, and despite the wait for the track, awesome to see everyone in such good spirits, enjoying the chat, having a laugh, and we even got some sun - another great SE day out - makes those days inthe office very much worth while :thumbsup

Again cheers to Woody for organising a good day.

Miserable weather setting of from the Burg and for the first hour or so but then cleared up and warmed up for me to keep having "one last run". New tyres on order do make you approach things very differently.

Great to see so many new faces from the burg end. Need to find a big enough venue for Edinbeer!

This was discussed at length last night* but for the record.......

I probably had more fun and learnt more about myself / the car than i've done on any of the 6 or so trackdays I've done at Knockhill. It was so refreshing to have the track to yourself so you can concentrate on your own driving rather than worrying about holding people up (i appreciate this isn't a problem for some of you  ). Yes, there was a bit too much of a wait between runs, but that's easily fixable. Loved the track in both directions, but preferred the direction in the afternoon as it's just flowed a bit better..........made the day more interesting by having the contrast though. Also because you were doing much less tuts than you would be at knockhill it was much less intimidating - even though some of the run-off areas were fairly small.

Driving aside, as many have mentioned there was much more banter / atomsphere than at KH events - was great to actually chat to many Se'ers who i only knew to say hello to previously. Great to meet everyone. Was this the first SE trackday where there was a picnic area ? :damnfunny

Highlights for me was watching andy and sanjoy fight it out for the "most creative accident" prize, followed closely by the look of delight on the face of Heds / heather as Dezzy "pounded" round the track in a time just slightly shy of hers

So big pat on the back for Woody and a huge thank you to EACC for a cracking event - i think SE and EACC are a good fit and i'm definately going to go back :thumbsup

Spoke to a few people about an SE sprint championship.

Two rounds at Kames, two rounds at another venue. Would need to be somewhere at least as "safe" as Kames.

Just a thought I would post up here.
Well it moves... might as well make the most of it....

You would need to be an MSN registered club for that.

However, that doesn't mean you couldn't compete against each other in a few of the SSC rounds.

Another suitable sprint track could be either East Fortune (LCC run the sprint there) or Alford.

Forrestburn would also suit the elise for anyone wanting to do a hillclimb

Was thinking more along the lines of timed fun days rather than full MSA approved stuff.

Maybe I picked him up wrong but I think Woody said we could have had the timing kit if we paid a bit more for the day.

Correct me if I am wrong but to join in the proper events you need MSA licence and fireproof coverals etc.
