Adam,

Great to have you on board.

Between the various pros and serious amateurs (oh yes, some of them are seriously amateur not least me!) we are usually blessed with some great collections of pics from trackdays, runs and meets. There is always space for another, from wannabe to expert.

Just one wee note of caution though. With most if not all of the camera hacks freely sharing their work *, it may come as a shock to people to expect to pay for images. I think you'll be fine if organising specific "shoots" ** but hope that you'll be OK to participate in the spirit of the majority when it comes to openly sharing pics from events and general Scottish Elises action :-)

Campbell

* notwithstanding the significant and serious matter of copyright ownership and acknowledgement etc...I should know, my old man is a professional photographer and is currently relying on all that to build a rather meagre pension!

** I have long been an admirer of good motor photographers, not least the work in EVO magazine for example, so maybe there is scope for us all to learn a thing or two from you about staging some static and mobile shots? Maybe there *is* a wee market for a "motor photography workshop day" at a few pounds per head...

Hey campbell,

i understand exactly what you mean, i will upload the photos onto the forum for everyone to see for free but will be screen resolution.
if someone only wants screen resolution images then i may arrange an expenses covered shoot, but most people will agree, why have a screen resolution image when you can have a full size one, means they can do anything they want with it, apart from selling it.

Trackday photos i won't charge for as i'm still working on getting good at them. Any meets that i come along too, i will more than likley not charge, but its the fact that these are not dedicated shoots as you said.

If i'm organising a shoot with one driver or 2 then i feel its ok to charge, and my prices are not outrageous, and i'v also offered 50% off. I charge for these shoots as im spending the shoot time with that/those specific cars, not just any that are around.

hope i don't seem pompus or grump.

hope to meet you at a few meets!

Adam

p.s Andy, drop me a Pm and i'll qoute you the prices, Mark i will give you a call later on!

No worries :)

I just assumed I was putting my name down for the freebie shoot like everyone else cause thats what the post said. :?
Anyhow, definitely no hard feelings. Good luck with the business and look forward to seeing some of your stuff :D
