Used to Scoobs mainly and been to KH a good few times...my good mate is going on track. That's Stuart Reddiex on the list. The yellow S1 is Tut IIRC? Met him once on an old Scoob run when i had an RB5....them were the days. Showcase cinema at the other side of Glasgow = top quality! pmsls29ttc wrote:You will notice that there a variety of driving abilties on track and it will show with the speed on track. Also others are more comfortable on track than others and hold off more others really go for it, WHen you see the yellow s1 elise fly by you dont worry too muchJust hope its dry so you can get a full appreciation of the car in the wet you cant show the true abilty of hitting 1.3 G round hairpin, it is fun

Quite sure your not that bad fella...not as bad as me anyways. I know how bad trackday work can be on brakes, tyres, etc so i tend to be a bit soft with hard driving. Only been on track once with my old RA.

MASSIVE thanks to Ken for giving me a pax and LOADS of advice on the wee smarties. Excellent cars and yours is a cracker, Ken.
Apologies to Mass for not seeing you again later on, but a friend had a wee problem with his scoob and i soon left just after that. Car looks lush though.
Got loads of pics, but won't get them on till tomorrow probably.
Shame about the weather...still turned out a great day though.

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Re: SIDC at Knockhill, Saturday 28th June
It was very wet to start with but dried up in the last 90 mins. It was a HUGE mistake to take the ABS fuse out as the track was properly wet and the front end was locking up ever so easily. I didn't realise the servo assited brakes without the ABS didn't give much warning to lock up and was so difficult to judge between hard braking and locking. So different from the non-servoed brakes. Don't recommend anyone to take it out in the wet. After locking up 5 or so times, I just gave up trying to brake hard
.
When the track dried up, the brakes were ok though. The juddering continued as I think the front disks are already distorted
.
BTW, does anyone know how to wire up a switch inside the car to switch ABS on/off?
Had a few pax laps in Dezzy's exige. To his credit, he drove well in the condition
Keep on at it!

Another SIDC day where it went from wet to dry in the space of a morning, seems to be the pattern now! Big thanks to everyone who took me out as a passenger, always interesting to see things from the other side. I promise I'll shout instructions next time Jinty, although judging by the grass on your car you might not want to listen to your brother too much
Was glad at times I wasn't out (i.e. when it was wet!), but felt a bit jealous by the time it dried out. Good to see the usual crowd there too

Also a thanks to Meatball for letting me car share with him even though it ended up with my car on track. Hope you enjoyed tracking the elise and sad I missed seeing your trek across the grass with my car.
Looking forward to Tuesday night

Re: SIDC at Knockhill, Saturday 28th June
excellent day. Had a bit of a gravel moment just as the dry line disappeared under yet more rain kept my foot in and just did a bit of dukes of hazzard stylie off roading untill there was a big pile of gravel which hit the clam sending a wave of gravel over the top of the car
Tut who was chasing me found this very funny. In fact so funny he fell off the road at the next corner
The RS29s at the front and 14s at the rear worked a treat. Also solved my braking instability by putting a couple of clicks on the nitrons.
Also had a great time getting sideways at the hairpin although I did run out of lock a few times
Very interesting having a pax with Craig in his big power S. Very different power delivery to the Bemani - the bemani was all about the midrange Craigs just had a big top end. Impressed by the package seems to get to silly speeds with no drama
shame the tc could not save you from a spin at the chicane
seriously though top driving
Had a great moment at one point when a Scubie lost it after the chicane and I did not have time to stop so just had to guess where he would be when he had finished spinning thankfully I picked the right side
Top driving from everyone
Cheers John for another excellent day!

Great to see so many Se'ers up there regardless of the weather. A wet trackday is SO good for learning about your car on the limit, and beyond. The Atom never fails to entertain and challenge in those conditions, bloody love it!
Had the usual monkeying around with Tut in the wet, sideways everywhere, until I got blue flagged for being too close, which off course then led to us having a drag up the main straight - some great fun as usual squire
Looked like loads of people were going well though.
Thanks to DDTB for taking Rachelle out in the Elise, and letting her warm up!
Shug - Happy birthday, and thanks for not binning the Atom. From the smile and the speed you were talking at when you pitted (after your spin at the hairpin) i think its safe to say the Atom has another fan .Way too long since I've seen you on track
Dom - I did a nice J turn for you (upon exiting the chicane), although only did half of it on track, but engaged reverse for fear of bogging down in the grass/mud and keep it moving to the exit road
Last 15 minutes I really gave the Atom death, and it was simply awesome. Staggering pace, car was handling perfectly, apart from my flat spots, and with another full set of tyres finished, its time to buy some shares in Yokohama.
Just realised July is looking slow for track outings - any thought people?

Well that was good fun!
My day started with me hating the elise as it is so twitchy and has so little front end feel compared to the exige!
I then got used to it and found it good fun!
A couple of lock ups and big slides out Clarks and the Hairpin and I was starting to smile.........then you know what happened....I await the pics! hehe
Strangely......if it was my car and not someone elses......I reckon I could go faster in the elise than in the exige.....it stops quicker and I can get a better drive (usually) out of the hairpin??????
Cheers to the owner of the elise I used , scib for the pax in his s2k (comfy couch spec) and A BIG BIG THANKS TO TUT.......you are a crazy wee man..........I loved the pax!
