Well i have considered your problem of getting a photographer that will come up to your high and exactly standards and i think i can see a solution.
The main issue is anyone that you get to do it is going to produce pictures is going to leave you with a set of pictures that in years to come your are going to look at and not be happy with. So the only viable solution is of course to take them yourself. This presents the problem of how do you be in the pictures and take them. Of course there is using a remote shutter release but that won't be the best.
So I propose a radical solution. You get an stand in to play yourself during the wedding. That way you can take the pictures it also has the added advantage that you don't have to endure being nice to the brides family as you can do the photography bit and then go and hide.
you just need to find someone tall, good looking and well mannered to take up the part.
She said yes! anyone one know a decent wedding photographer?

LOL, an interesting idea but I think I will go the traditional route and hire a photographer
If you like their reportage style (which I don't personally, I'm more traditional) then check out:
http://www.danjohnsonphoto.co.uk/
http://www.ryan-browne.co.uk/
http://www.peterprior.com/
http://www.jeffascough.net/
IMHO the best Scottish wedding photographers are (in no particular order)
http://www.parrisphotography.co.uk/
http://www.imagesofmorningside.com/
http://www.jhphoto-online.co.uk/
http://www.gordonmcgowan.co.uk/
the thing is, I would really like the current Scottish Master Photographer and Scottish Wedding Photographer of the Year to do my photos, but I'm busy that day
so I may ask my mate http://www.pjphoto.co.uk/ but he ain't cheap

one of the most important things when booking a photographer is that you like them, there are allot of great photographers out there but many of them I would have no where near my wedding!

aye, she has a good team of photographers there

can't comment on Guy Collier but David Ho is a really nice bloke and a bloody good photographer, yes he is not the cheapest but he is (almost) worth itdrb5 wrote:Guy Collier has a nice style, but being South of the border, I'm not sure what extra charges he'd send me. David Ho is another cracker, but 3k standard price is a bit out of my budget

Thanks for that David.
I actually really like your own style! Seen a couple places that go OTT with their "style", adding and changing things so the pictures look fake.
I'll let the other half have a wee look at your site and might get in contact with you. Any chance you could send me some figures and what you can do for me please? It'll be a couple of years till the day, but i know we need to book things soon.
