Tagged along today to suss things out and hoping to grab some pax action if the opportunity arose :)

I wasn't too impressed when I was ushered out of the pit lane by a member of staff shortly after arriving. I had my wee boy Cameron with me but apparently nobody under 16 is allowed in the pitlane so we had to leave  I can understand they don't want accidents happening but I didn't particularly want him to get run over either so he was totally glued to my side at all times. If he was going to get run over then so was I.

So we retired to the hairpin and watched from there. Some very cool machinery on display. Best soundtrack of the day went to the white Shelby Mustang :love although the smouldering brakes showed that it maybe wasn't best suited to track work.

Sorry to hear that Neil.

I am sure I saw kids younger than 16 in the pit lane many times before :?:

I don't know driving in another way which isn't risky. Each one has to improve himself. Each driver has its limit. My limit is a little bit further than other's.

Camp, sorry our session was cut short by the flying object! We do more laps the next time. The only driver I wasn't happy with was the guy who had the silver M3. Other than him, I thought the drivers were ok but too many red flags

Popped up today with the family. The guy in the Gallardo was absolutley flying, looked faster than anything else an nice to see it being driven hard. Also very impressed with the balls of the guy in the red S1 (red & white helmet?) really throwing it into the turn at the end of the staight before Duffus (very entertaining). 8)

Cheers, Peter

That is that same guy that overtook me on the right going into the hairpin last year (not that I hold a grudge!!!)....maybe I should have punched the fat focker then!
Glad the exploding evo didn't do any damage!
My helmet is chipped from the fiat coupes cross country moment (I was in a 7).....
Eventful day!

No problem :thumbsup was running short of fuel so couldn't do as many laps as I would have liked. Had a sixth gear cruise to petrol station

Tell me about it. Rules are rules I guess, but Gareth told me later that a 12yr old had been signed on for pax laps which smacks of double standards a bit if you ask me.

You were going great guns out there in the Club Racer Mass :thumbsup Next time I'll come along with a babysitter and I'll be paying you a visit !

Just out of curiosity, what kind of speed are you hitting on the main straight before braking for duffus ? I noticed that coming out of the hairpin most of the Lotus contingent seemed to keep pace with everything up to about 70-90 mph (I'd guess), at which point the more powerful machinery pulled ahead.

Was disapointed with the Honda NSX. Always had a soft spot for these but it looked a bit pedestrian out there today.

All good stuff though, it was a good day.

Neil

You are welcome for a pax at anytime. Please find me in the pit lane the next time :D

The data logger tells me I am hitting 110 at both main and back straights. I think I may go a little faster if I don't slide the car out of the hairpin (but its fun so I don't care  ) As for the cars with 500+ bhp, there is not much a standard loti can do so, best leave them for Tut/Jamie/Craig to sort out!

I don't think there is anything wrong with the NSX, its to do with that car or the driver...... You should see Senna testing the NSX at Suzuka on youtube.

Agreed, taking to the right hand side of the track to go round McIntyres looked interesting
First time I caught him there I didn't know what to do cos I'd no idea where he was going, 2nd time I just went right round the outside and overtook him :thumbsup

When I asked about signing on for Pax laps for my son 10 I was told there was no hight or age restriction so long as he could get the belts fastened saftley
Thanks for taking him out in the 7 Kevin (only car I found with a full harness passenger side) ~really made his day

I was asked to take the kids off the pit wall and told they had to stay on the pit/service side off the pit lane and weren't allowed on the pit wall to spectate
