Which ones don't mate? I've never seen them. :?:
Dunno, I'm probably just thinking of paper ones. I think it may have been the MAF sensor that Phil told me about getting screwed on a scooby with oil from an air filter so might be worth looking into.

I did my hurricane when I had it serviced (If you don't ask for it as part of a service it won't get done!) and it was really manky, took a good 1/2 hour of cleaning. Not quite as good as the example above but not far off! Used a K&N kit, the oil is red and the filter green but its the same stuff.

I did read somewhere that filtration improves with time with the cotton filters but the resistance increaces :scratch

Check them all today, there is no excuse!

Andy,

let us know how your re-gloop goes, I'm wondering if that might also be a factor in my MIL light episode.

Colin,

If you've got a pipercross - clean it anyway. Will take you 1/2 hour and even if it doesn't solve the problem, it's worth making sure the engine is protected.....

My airbox for the TB's is connected to a big pipercross and I'm always stunned how manky it gets so quickly. (like in the space of weeks)

Can't clean em too often IMHO......

The inside of the filter was filthy! I suspect that might be where the debris that was getting in to the TPS was coming from.

Call MMV performance for the cleaning kit - 01786448800

Since the standard airbox is back on I haven't been able to get the mil light to return yet........ Did your car go in for this also yesterday?

Erm, if it can get into the filter, then it can get into the engine.....

[Sorry the grinding paste pic was bad taste]

Do you mean inside the cold air duct but outside the filter? I hope so....
