How long

roughly, should it take to replace the front clam?

It needs painted, but when I had the damage assessed the guy say one day or two days max to fix it.

Now the bird at Allied's telling me it's a minimum 7 working day job?

Is this right or are they just stretching it out?

I feel really bad now as my bro wanted to take it up to KH this sunday.

replacing front clam is a 2-3 hour job. less if you know what your doing. maybe 7 days is for the whole repair????

That's what I expected, and what I was originally told. Once all the parts are in, which they are, it would take 1 day, two max.

Remember that they are a big place with a lot of traffic. The sad flipside of that is that they'll have to schedule things where there's time to do them. Therefore, you may have a 6 day wait for there to be time to allocate.

Just as long as they don't charge you 7 days, I'd say fair enough.

Yes, but she called me about two weeks ago to book the car in and I had to get it to them at 4.30pm exactly yesterday. Presumably that's them scheduling in the work.

Well just spoke to him, and all the usual aye buts and naw buts... and "I'm the professional here, naw you..." and it's a minimum of 7 working days now.

Apparently he's the Lotus expert, no one else, and only he knows how long it'll take and he's not about to itemise the ins and outs to someone who wouldn't understand anyway!

He also let slip they haven't even started work on it yet, and they've had it since yesterday afternoon.

Phone back, speak to the workshop manager (nobody else) and go postal. If you were informed that it'd be a couple of days then it's not on for you to subsequently be told it's a large multiple of that!

Don't let them away with it - if we sit and swawllow this sh*t then it's all we'll get.

Did you speak to the big bald guy? Like I said before, everyone else there was average apart from the baldy guy. They didnt have my car anywhere near a week to fit and paint the clamshell.

Yeah it was him I spoke to initially and he quoted me two days, and then I spoke to him today and he's given me a whole load of lip.

How long was yours in then?
