In my defence I left early because had I stayed (a) I would have missed Katie before she went away on her holiday and (b) whenever I wait around, the track doesn't re-open and none of you would have gotten on track again :-)

Anyway, you guys needed the practice ;-)

Cheers,
Robin

what a trip!

Started with the kind of insanity expected of SE and continued that way the whole way through!

Struggling for time today but will try and post up a report when i get back from the Stuff Live Show.

Just thawed out after an unbelievably cold run home - then, hit patches of ice and slush north of Moffat! NICE!

Still the Atom, caked in ice, made it back, and despite needing a brief trip to the factory was epic fun :thumbsup

However, the Green Mule was simply awesome - the only glitch being me catching the sill when ambition overtook talent going sideways, and clipping a kerb  The exhuast has had rough love the Uncle Ron was as we had to try and find a fix when it recorded 107db at Oulton

Thanks to everyone for an epic trip, to Walshy for being kidnapped and still up for it after the 111r expired, and instructing SE for Snett and Oulton - legend :thumbsup

Also to the Ape for getting Oulton re-opened after trying to negotiate for the drifting circuit as a back up :damnfunny

Hope all our more northerly dwellers got home ok :thumbsup

Till the next one :cheers

Had no intention of leaving early but given that my car didn't pass the very strict noise test and none of the marshalls could find my bung that fell out on track, (don't think they looked that hard tbh), I had no option but to go home as they wouldn't let me on. Shame since the 10 track minutes I did get were really good fun and Walshy gave me a good couple of pointers to work on too. :thumbsup Think he enjoyed the drifting at the first corner.

Bit of a waste of time/money for 10 minutes so pretty p!ssed off all in. No point hanging about and boring everyone with my moans.

I got your bung from the marshall. I gave it to Andy G. :thumbsup

Was a classic.

Great day with Walshy, Darren (walshy Jnr) and Emma, even after our small ding after about 12 seconds of arriving at the airfield  (I am still not taking 100% of the blame for that)
Folembray was a great wee track in a great setting. Loved it, I could do that high speed chicane all day :D
Abbeville was a big go-cart track. Not best suited for the 2-11, but was good for seeing the cars limits
Snetterton was great and as with walshy I was almost turning in on the back straight before baking. Not easy to do at 140. The last corner (craners?) is a epic in the 2-11.
Oulton was great yesterday. Was so looking forward to taking the 2-11 there, but I had been dreaming of it being dry not covered in snow. Was really good to drive the 2-11 on a wet track. Ok its cheating with all the toys, but I need them :D
The rest of the trip was driving for track to track or drinking :thumbsup it was a great trip and SE are still the quickest and the last in the bar :D its the banter that makes these trips, thanks to all involved.
This might (unless the Ring/spa trip comes off) be my last trip for a couple of years as I will be racing in the LOT series next year and need all my pennies.

Well, what an absolute blast!

Random thoughts:
Walshy day still worthwhile (just) despite the Pussy Willow drinks cabinet/ropey club...BennyB busting some moves on the dance floor (and falling over).
:damnfunny
The 'this will end in tears' moment next morning as everyone drift/donuted onto the airfield... :D

Folembray was a great circuit, I particularly liked the chicane at the top of the hill. The uphill section which was totally flat in the dry would be 'interesting' in the wet. Walshy's car expired on his prelim lap with Darren (other instructor) so I was taxi for the rest of the trip (I don't think he fancied the atom or 2-11)
Anyway that saved on fuel bills and instruction. ;)

Abbeville the usual hoon fest in the morning when it was dry. Wet in the afternoon for more hooning but with a bit more car/tyre sympathy. Only wet tracktime for the 1.30pm briefing posse...
:damnfunny
(Benny falling on his erse down the embankment...seeing a pattern here!)

Goldfish bowls of water in my headlights on the Chunnel...(wheel arch liners are worn through).

Snetterton a much nicer track than I'd dared hope - pretty flat and monsterously fast but some interesting and novel challenges. Loved Coram - never ending, flat righthander and also braking all the way round the left hander at the end of the back straight. Had yet another record low fuel moment - managed to put 43.8 L into the Exige! When we came off the track it said half full!
All 4 of my tyres were dead so thanks to Woody (tyre biatch) who took me up to Hethel in the Pug. :thumbsup
Cool moment when Russel Gibbons pointed to his race car which inspired my GT Edition Exige. Also picked up some new AP 308mm grooved front rotors so nearly £1,300 bill.

Oulton slippy...there was another Exige stickered/painted like mine which saved my doing the noise check. I drove into the queue for what I thought were the sighting laps but it was open pit lane! Thought it was a bit fast for pace car laps...
When the snow came I managed lunch before the power went off (the quick and the hungry) then packed up and headed with Woody to get the tyres fitted (thanks again Woody). Just as the last wheel nut went on Scotty texted that the track had reopened so refuelled and honked back for another 125 track miles (another complete tank). Some great syncro drifting with McApe into the sunset... 8)

Left for fuel so lost the convoy for the way back up. Passed Messers Gibson and Boag on the way up (tried to wake Iain from his Fresian dreams with a 'fly-by').
Also saw Peter B when I'd missed the services entry for refuelling at Abington.
Home by 10.15, Nicola doesn't like my new beard...

I had a wee go at a fly by, but with my limited power, and short run up distance, i only managed to buzz them at 125 tuts with the hazzards on

Had a cracking couple of days after catching up with everyone at Snetterton, cheers to all for the pax laps. :thumbsup The 2-11 is just stunning on track, cheers for the offer of a drive in it Scotty but I did prefer the pug for the trip home.

Ali; tyres were no problem, was nice to get a visit to the factory, even if we didn't get the full tour and corner weight session like some. Got a few pics at Snett:
