I thught there would have been more on the radio about it (not been near a tv yet)....
Hamilton did well since his car was meant to be running so little downforce....I assume thats why Vettel escaped in the wet?
Who would win in a "stock" car over the year......my thoughts are a tie between Hamilton and Alonso?
opinions?

if so, this will be amazing.

Not sure about that, would certainly make sense though. Apparently a lot of what they're suggesting comes from Bernie's digital F1 coverage from a few years back - use the red button to swap camera angles, see the timing screens, replay key moments, switch commentaries(!) etc. Just hope the racing is up to scratch, as the new cars don't look the best :(

ah, beg your pardon, wasn't really meaning you'd set him up - IIRC you have chastened him from the start ;-) - so I guess I was being unclear...I was of course generalising that we are perhaps not supporting home-grown talent (which goes on to take on the international stage) the way that we might?

But in any case, of course everyone is entitled to their opinion. I am not a 100% Hamilton fan, as it happens...his book, for instance, was a bit weak IMHO...but in the same bracket as other local sporting "heroes" whom I'm not fully sure of eg Andy Murray, I still think our small island deserves to get behind them when they are off flying the Brit Brand.

Is all...!

oh, many do...but how many of ANY of us have been near enough an F1 driving seat to actually be able to judge for sure?!

F1 is not a sport any more, just like "professional" football...it's an entertainment medium with a modicum of engineering advancement thrown in as a by-product. The best any viewer can do is treat it as an enjoyable, and occasionally exciting, way to spend 90-150 mins of a Sunday afternoon. Slightly moreso if you have the energy to buy Autosport and digest all the off-screen drama too.

The bottom line of this year's season for me has been a number of genuinely exciting races, brought about by

a) the changeable weather
b) derring-do from drivers like Alonso, Hamilton, Vettel, Webber, Kubica and maybe Rosberg
c) a championship fought at least at one point by 3 teams any one of which had the ability to take the crown
d) [and regrettably] an element of intrigue as to what dodgy tactic Ferrari International Assistance was going to deploy next.

However, for me to keep watching longer term, 2009 aero and tyre changes need to have the firm effect of enabling the overtaking you expect of any quality RACING series. Otherwise the off-screen smash will overtake everything else and I'm offski to spend more time at KH and watching BTC.

The helmet cam really added drama to the shots - hope it wasn't a one off for DC's last race. :thumbsup

LOL!

Was just thinking about the place on Sunday actually, not long after DC bought it in his now infamous 1st corner routine. Bless him. I imagine the place would've been packed then, for the old swansong? When I saw him on the pitwall describing what could only have been his installation lap ( ) I thought, "aye aye, consultancy career for RBR started earlier than you expected eh matey!"

Real shame for the guy. Loved his quote to Louise:

L - "So David what could you have done about that 1st corner incident with Nakajima?"

DC - "Well Louise, my lovely, maybe qualified a bit further up the grid from him for starters!"

[my term of endearment added for crass effect]

There's a very good video that captures the essence of Sunday's race now available on the Formula1 website. Well worth 3 mins to watch :thumbsup

Check out the "No! Your son hasn't won, Mr Massa!" mechanic's reaction.
