Afraid not, the furthest north they come in Oulton Park for a double header in September. I have suggested a round at Knockhill but been told I'll be guaranteed a podium even if I managed to convince the 750MC to run one :D

It's hard, the cars are all so closely matched it's difficult to just hoof it past them. Except those at the front, who I am convinced run 1600s. Drafting works incredibly well, way more pronounced than I expected. I was in danger of over-revving in 4th down the back straight on part throttle on catch a tow from another car. I need to learn how to do this well.

Top effort. Sounds like you learnt a lot from it also!

Good luck with the next event, and hope you "dick" a few more cars in the words of Tut. :thumbsup

Simon doesn't paint the full picture here. His trip down wasn't uneventful with him being second or third on the scene of a tragic incident on the A1(M) - the passenger of another car had suffered a heart-attack with the driver doing CPR on the road side. Simon & Teresa assisted as much as possible. Not the ideal start for your first motorsport event.

I have to say that I was and still am increadibly proud of my mate Simon - what started off as MSN chat, Simon was the only one to see if fully through and for him not to have a mechanical or engineering background makes it all the more of an achievement.

Heh, fancy me forgetting about that.
I never did find out what happened, couldn't find any mention of it on any news sites.

Well done Simon, incredibly proud of what you acvhieved with absolutely zero testing, in a car you hand built, and finished the night before the race. Superb result when you take all that into consideration :cheers
