Newbie:Elise-now with a honda engine!

Post by bertieduff » Fri Jun 09, 2006 9:29 pm

Hi guys...just joined and have to get this out of my system: F****** F***
F***!!!!! That's better. See, i finally got an 04 purple and tan little beauty six weeks ago, after many years of drooling. Just love it to bits. Problem is I was sitting stationary waiting to turn right on Tuesday when a Civic smacked me in the tail at 30pmh. Never even braked before impact. So just waiting to see if she's a write-off. Can't believe it! Do i win a prize for shortest ownership?

Hi Bertie,

Thats a bugger!!

Still at least you're okay.

If it was me I would want it written off, then you can get another one, rather than worrying about anything not 100% with repair etc..

It's quite in here just now because a lot of the regulars are away at "Mexi-Towers" this weekend, if you don't know it's the biggest Lotus weekend in Scotland (if not UK) used to be known as "Tut Towers" but if you have a look round you'll find out why the name change and what's happening.

cheers guys.....at least no injuries, but I'm still gutted! Loved the colour but purple not the most visible judging from the number of people who've tried to drive over me in traffic recently, lights or not! Mack....looks like i'm missin all the fun, hope to meet some of you soon tho!
Btw...my insurers are Sabre....wouldn't touch them with a barge-pole after my experience of the last few days....they've even lost the remains of the car at the moment! My brokers (Jason & Alison (lotus admirer) @ Swinton, Newcastle) have bent over backwards to sort things out tho, which makes a pleasant change! Can't recommend them enough. Lesson: given the stress and time involved, I'd willingly pay (even) more next year if I knew I'd get a decent service when when it came to the (very loud!) crunch...

Sounds like bad news. But I think Neil (noops) still has the record of 24hours of ownership before crash! Hopefully you will get it sorted soon. Whereabouts in inverclyde are you? I am in Kilmacolm.

Blinkin flip that's impressive... Dammit, I don't even get the prize...not my week. Jke11y, I am in Gourock. I see a storm titaniumS2 around kilmacolm, that u? There's a nice yellow VX appeared recently in Inverkip as well. The yellow S1 and the black Exige are the only others I know of in this district..

The previous owner of your elise wouldnt happen to be a guy called Mark Hak would it??

One of my neighbours had an 04 purple S with tan leather - he only had it about 6 months but had to sell it beacuse he got his GF preggers

He bought it from MMC

Oh yeh welcome by the way and bad luck

The was a guy called Xaiver who had his car written off on the way home from MMC IIRC.

This was at a time when there was a waiting list for S2's as well so it wasn't as simple as getting another one.

Cheers

Kinda Scotty, Kinda.

He was at Hermiston gate when a car cut in hard infront of him - he swerved to avoid it and plough right into a car that the other one had swerved to avoid.

Kinda like a scissors action.
