MMC rant...small, but v.annoying

Post by Michael » Fri May 29, 2009 9:01 pm

Ordered new rear rod end ball joints, inboard/outboard, X2, last friday, promised for thurs this week. One of the ball joints did not arrive but the rest did. Blamed squarely on Lotus. I struggle to believe they would send incomplete sets.

The worst weekend for this to happen. :x :x Would have fitted them tonight/tomorrow to enjoy the rest of the weekend at least with a solid handling rear end until in at CLCM for geo. My rear tyres are currently being wasted with the current worn ones....

Down to Edinburgh to pick it up after work this afternoon. Traffic was hoaching so had a scoot round (a deserted) Ikea before heading back tonight.

I had to stop using them. Everything i ordered was wrong and of course either Lotus fault or the poor Postman.

I now use Bell & Colvill (Perfect everytime). If you order a part on the monday it's always there at latest Firday.

Still a shame as I would rather give my money to someone North of the Border.

Got to agree. The only time a part was due from MMC they got the wrong side (o/s rather than n/s light). In fairness they did work hard to get the right part to me but it took around another week or so....and yes Lotus were blamed.

Well its Friday no phone call to say their in or not . I went to Shields road earlier nothing in at 3.30 . Just tried to phone and they are finished for the day. I should have phoned MMC this morning to make sure they had arrived from Lotus .

3.30? I must just have missed you, think I was there about 3.45ish.

I went up to collect a set of tyres I was told would be there Friday morning at the latest and they'd also said they'd call to let me know. No phone call, but every time I've been promised one it's never happened. So I went up anyway as I couldn't get though to MMC parts Edinburgh. Blank faces & no tyres in Glasgow. I got through to Edinburgh on the phone eventually; they'd apparently only arrived there as 'Lotus were having lots of problems yesterday'.

yeah, my car is there just now and they are having issues with parts all round the guy said...

however, i received 3 phone calls today updating me each time as to what was happening with the parts...

Overall the customer service is very good... they are bloody expensive, but I dont really care this time round as The AA are paying for it.
Get car back tomorrow - 2/3 day turnaround is not bad plus i can get train through then walk for a few minutes and im there. :thumbsup
