Re: high temp in the exige
Had the sniffer kit out today, but the tester fluid has gone off (turned green no less!!). Until I get some new fluid, my tester kit is useless unfortunately... Should get some new stuff later this week i hope....

Re: high temp in the exige
Can you smell any coolant? In the absence of a sniffer kit, if you've lost a fair bit of coolant and you cannot see/smell any leaks then I would remove each spark plug - a steam cleaned spark plug could be telling (though depending on which one it is, it might also point at the inlet manifold gasket).
Also look for clouds of steam on cold start (in this weather you wouldn't normally expect clouds of steam from the exhaust).
Cheers,
Robin

Good, well coolant smell probably points at either slow rad or slow heater matrix leak, so a lot cheaper than any HGF type trauma

I could smell coolant with my issue, and you know how that turned out, fingers crossed its not engine related.robin wrote:Good, well coolant smell probably points at either slow rad or slow heater matrix leak, so a lot cheaper than any HGF type trauma

Sure, but wasn't your coolant fountaining out of the expansion tank at the same time?
